You will be notified a week prior to the exact date of when you can pick up your key for your new unit. From the time you pick up your key, you will have 48 hours to vacate your current unit and return the key to the front desk key box.

Prepare For Move In
Move in guest check in : all guests assisting residents with move in will receive wrist bands that expire at 6:00 pm, at that time if your guests are still present they will need to be checked in at the front desk. St. Martin Hall.
Residents will not be permitted to have guests signed in for the first week of classes. All residents moving in should have received a move in email with date , time and instructions , please review your email for a seamless move in, etc.
Move in Amazon hub registration: You will receive a registration email during the week of your move. You will have 24 hors to register before it expires. Please reach out to liveatluminaduq@cocm.com if you need the registration email to be sent again.

Parking on Forbes Ave. is not permitted as it is a one lane road due to construction.please move in during your assigned move in time for a seemless move in experience.

The Resident Portal is where you can submit any work order requests and complete your Move-In Room Condition Report. The Move-In RCR allows you to document the existing condition of the space and will be compared to your move-out RCR. Please be aware that you will have 72 hours after collecting your key to complete your move-in RCR. After that deadline, all items will be marked as ‘Good’ and the RCR closed.
You are able to receive your mail directly to McGinley Hall. We have a package locker- the Hub and mailboxes in our main lobby. You will receive a Hub set up email in the coming days. Please register using an Amazon account connected to your email/phone number. This does not need to be the account you order from.

Showrooms Needed
Those who may be interested in using their room as a show room for tours for the fall semester please email liveatluminaduq@cocm.com- all residents receive a $100 Amazon gift card at the end of the semester for participation, and ability to choose what two 2-hour time blocks their unit is available for tours during Monday through Friday.
Early Arrivals
On both Friday, August 14th and Monday, August 17th from 9:00am - 4:00pm we will welcome residents needing to move in early. Please fill out the early arrivals form. Everyone must fill out the form including; students wishing to move in early, RA’s, Orientation Team, student employees, etc. There is a $50 fee for an early arrival. There is a $100 fee for any approved early arrival submitted after 8/1/2026.

July 21st
Residents may use the Wattson parking lot while moving out, but parking or waiting on Forbes is not permitted; Lot #1 remains available for permit holders only, and all residents must complete their move-out by noon on 7/21.
August
3rd
Kick off for In Building Moves. Parking permits will go live this day!
August 14
Large event on campus this day, please use the McGinley Hall side lot and Wattson parking lot. Additionally, Team Leader move in for orientation is this day. Please contact DUPO with any questions.
August 17th
Move in day starting at noon!

Q: Where does my mail and packages arrive as a resident of Lumina Communities?
A: In Live at Lumina Buildings, we utilize the Amazon Hub, which enables students to pick up packages 24/7. Packages from Amazon and other companies are often placed in the Hub. If the package is perishable or oversized, a message will be sent to the resident via Entrata or our Front Desk. Mail is placed in a labeled mailbox for the unit.
Q: How do I access the Amazon Hub and my mailbox?
A: To access the unit’s mailbox, the key is stored by the front desk and should be returned in labeled tray afterwards. To access the Amazon Hub, you will first have to activate your account. Please check your DUQ email for further registration information and register your account under your own Amazon account. Once activated, you should receive emails when items are checked into the Hub, granting you access via barcode or number code.

A: You can find your code through your Amazon account. Go to Amazon website > select your name above accounts & lists > select “You have a package to pick up at the Amazon Locker” > your barcode should show.

Apartment Meal Plans
WHAT IS AN APARTMENT MEAL PLAN?
With the variety of cooking amenities that the Lumina buildings offer, not all students want a traditional meal plan! Duquesne Dining offers apartment meal plans with 5-7 meal swipes a week and flex! This is a convenient option for students who still plan to grab lunch at one of the many dining options on campus. You are not required to have a meal plan when living in the Lumina communities.
HOW TO GET A MEAL PLAN
You can sign up for an apartment meal plan through DORI. Log in using your Duquesne credentials and click on the Meal Plan tab, then Apartment Meal plan. From there you are able to select your desired meal plan! Returning Lumina residents can now sign up for apartment meal plans. New Lumina residents will need to wait until the end of the summer to apply, as housing has not yet transitioned for the semester.

Premium Plan: 7 meal swipes per week, $750 Flex per semester
McGinley Bike Room
McGinley Bike Room applications are now open on CampusLink. Permits for the bike room are free and leases run from either July 1, 2026-May 31, 2027 or August 23, 2026- July 19, 2027.
