Dear Friend of Life, The year 2022 is going down in history as the year Roe v. Wade was finally overturned.

As we rejoice in this victory, due to the efforts and perseverance of pro-life people like you, we must also face the harsh reality with which we are left. Roe v. Wade did irreparable damage over the last five decades. Since that fateful day in 1973, over 63.5 million children have been killed in the womb. The painful truth is this: abortion is not only still happening in America but the killing is even expanding now in some states. Post-Roe California looks worse than pre-Roe California.

Add Illinois, Oregon, and New York… the list goes on. The killing in these states continues, some even up until the moment of birth, and in some cases - tragically - even after. New statistics show that over 50% of abortions are now happening via the abortion pill, which is easier than ever to obtain.

It’s clear - we have a long way to go to make abortion unthinkable in our nation.

To achieve victory in the fight for life, we must look at our historic success this past year and know what to do as we move forward to win.

We recognize the grievous legal atrocity that legalized the mass slaughter of innocent, tiny people for nearly 50 years. And we embrace the

opportunity that now lies ahead to secure complete legal and cultural protection for future generations of our children. We are within a sacred moment and a critical fight lies ahead.

For decades, Roe v. Wade has tainted American minds with an acceptance of legalized murder.

Abortion has been hailed as a “woman’s right” or “empowerment,” but it has only made what should be the safest place in the world for a child (a mother’s womb) a war zone.

Abortion is still destroying the sacred bonds of love between mothers and fathers and their children, desecrating motherhood and fatherhood, and fueling the mistreatment of women and their babies.

We saw what many had believed was impossible — the overturning of Roe v. Wade — because of the hidden, faithful, loving acts of pro-life people like you over the last 50 years.

We must build on the momentum of what we have accomplished.

the millions of lives already lost and let the devastation in the aftermath of Roe sink in. We must persevere until no more lives are lost.

JUSTICE JUSTICE FORFOR THETH F In March of 2022, pro-life activists obtained boxes containing the bodies of aborted children from a medical waste company while engaging in anti-abortion advocacy outside of the Washington Surgi-Clinic in D.C. This killing facility is owned and operated by abortionist Cesare Santangelo, who was exposed in Live Action’s 2013 Inhuman late-term abortion investigation videos.

Inside the boxes were the remains of 110 aborted babies, most of whom were killed in the first trimester of pregnancy. But along with these children were the mutilated bodies of five children aborted late in pregnancy. Upon the review of photographic evidence of their remains, experts believed some of these children were old enough to have survived outside the womb. One of the children, whom the activists named “Harriet,” had wounds consistent with a possible D&X, or “partialbirth” abortion, which is federally banned.

LAWMAKERS SUMMIT

Live Action’s first ever workshop for political communicators trained state leaders in the most winsome, tested, and effective communications and content to advance the fight for preborn human rights.

On August 12-14th we kicked off our first ever Live Action Lawmakers Summit. During the weekend, lawmakers from across the U.S. networked with fellow legislators while learning from legislative experts and pro-life heroes on how to end abortion and communicate winsomely within media.

Attendees voiced that this experience refueled, challenged, and empowered them to fight for life in their states. This summit bore fruit across the country. Within days, we accepted an invitation from one of our lawmakers to speak with 30+ West Virginia state lawmakers.

Bills: Live Action has worked with 35 lawmakers in over 20 states presenting model bills and partnering with them on bold, innovative bills to stop predatory abortion subsidies, and to enable equal protection for every child.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch of Mississippi fought at the U.S. Supreme Court to successfully overturn Roe v. Wade. Tens of thousands of children have been saved to date.

Mary Wagner, a Canadian pro-life activist, has rescued countless children by providing resources, support, and a red rose to women in the waiting rooms of abortion facilities. She has served over 6 years in prison for her courageous work.

2023 & BEYOND

NEW SEX ED A staggering 86-89% of women who abort are unmarried. An unmarried woman is nine times more likely to get an abortion than a married woman. The bottom line is that we will not end abortion in this country until we heal our broken culture regarding sex. Abortion culture is downstream from hook-up culture and shack-up culture. We have several major video campaigns to inspire and persuade young people especially to pursue a commitment based sexual ethic.

OLIVIA EXPANSION NEW Pregnancy App:

In 2021, Live Action launched our pivotal Baby Olivia video project to effectively educate viewers about the incredible beauty and humanity of the preborn child. This video shows the truth and reality of life growing in the womb from conception right up until birth, using the best, medically accurate, quality 3-D animations and supporting media content. The focus is on the baby’s growth, development, and humanity, and has allowed us to reach diverse new audiences.

Since she was introduced to the world, “Baby Olivia” has been viewed by over 36 million people and has caused a 37-point shift towards the pro-life perspective among viewers. Because of her great impact, we are expanding the series in 2023. These new Olivia films will perpetuate the emotional bond between the viewer and the developing preborn child by drawing viewers into Olivia’s world. This is 54 | 2023 & BEYOND

particularly effective for younger viewers because it is profoundly eye-opening and helps instill a reverence for life as children at impressionable ages develop their worldviews.

Another key component to this expansion project will be the development of a pregnancy app, that will feature a timelapse of every day of pregnancy rendered in photoreal Computer Generated Imagery.

“I SAW MY BABY” CAMPAIGN With the recent announcement that the FDA has approved retail pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens to sell the lethal abortion pill with a prescription, our research is showing that within the coming years, between 60-80% of abortions will be performed via through the abortion pill.

To expose the abortion pill industry, Live Action will be launching a new campaign, “I Saw My Baby.” This 5-part initiative will feature three animated, true stories of women who lost their children to the abortion pill. They will share their stories of suffering through the physical agony of the lethal pill and enduring the emotional trauma of seeing their aborted babies at the end.

Live Action will also release a mini-documentary that aims to expose the corruption of the abortion pill industry and an authoritative research essay further documenting the dishonorable business of chemical abortions.

Lila Rose is a writer, speaker, and activist. Lila founded and serves as president of Live Action, a human rights nonprofit with the largest digital footprint for the global pro-life movement. Lila’s investigative reporting on the abortion industry has been featured in most major news outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, CBS and ABC Nightline. Her media appearances include Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight and Hannity, as well as CNN, BBC, and many other national television and radio programs. Lila has written for the Hill, Politico, USA Today, and First Things, among others.

Lila speaks internationally on family and cultural issues, has addressed members of the European Parliament, and spoken at the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women. She has been named among National Journal’s “25 Most Influential Washington Women Under 35,” and Christianity Today’s “33 under Thirty-Three.”

Lila is the author of “Fighting for Life: Becoming a Force for Change in a Wounded World.” She is the host of “The Lila Rose Podcast,” a podcast that tackles relationships, faith, culture, and politics.

A strategic operations leader, Josef has held multiple leadership roles in the nonprofit and private sectors. Before coming to Live Action, Josef helped to scale a business from $0 to $8.4 Million in annual recurring revenue. He brings extensive experience building and developing teams, along with the infrastructure to support them. Josef serves on Live Action’s executive team strategizing, implementing, and managing the organization's wide array of initiatives. Josef is married and has a young daughter and son.

KIMBERLY BIRD

VI C E P R E S I D E N T O F EX T E R N A L R E L AT I O N S Kimberly Bird joined Live Action in 2021 as the Vice President of External Relations. After 12 years leading the communications strategies for a national staffing firm and several years as a broadcast journalist, Kimberly wanted to use her voice to educate and advocate on behalf of preborn children. She currently serves on Live Action’s executive team with a specialized focus on development, events, and news content that will transform public opinion to be against abortion. Kimberly lives in Florida with her husband and their three daughters.

VI C E P R E S I D E N T O F CO M M U N I CAT I O N S Noah Brandt joined Live Action in August of 2021, after years of effective political advocacy fighting for life at both the federal and state levels. Before coming to Live Action, Noah worked with Americans United for Life, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and numerous political campaigns across the nation. Noah pursued both his undergraduate and graduate education in Legislative Affairs at The George Washington University. Noah lives in Missouri with his wife and daughter, often traveling to Washington, D.C. and state capitals around the country to fight for life. At Live Action, Noah leads all communications and public policy initiatives to ensure preborn American citizens are treated with dignity and that their basic human rights are respected.
