SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Welcome to Eagle Nation and Prosper High School Football. It’s my pleasure to welcome you to our community and to witness tonight’s game. I would like to extend my greetings to the students, parents, and community members from both our visiting school district and our own team. Let’s come together to celebrate the spirit of competition between schools.

A special thank you goes out to the coaches who have dedicated themselves to the overall development of the student athletes participating in tonight’s game.

Their influence extends far beyond the field, and their commitment to molding and shaping these young individuals is commendable. Let us appreciate the hard work, dedication, and character building that the coaches have instilled in these student athletes.

The efforts put in by student athletes deserve applause and admiration. The work they put in, the discipline they demonstrate, and the values they learn through sports will have a lifelong impact as they grow into adulthood.

The moments we witness tonight will become part of their personal stories, cherished and recounted for years to come.

Tonight, as fans, we share a universal language of passion, enthusiasm, and raw emotion. It’s important for us to remember the significance of these moments to our student athletes. Let’s support and encourage them, and most importantly, let’s teach them the true meaning of sportsmanship.

Football, at its core, is a game that mirrors life, teaching us the value of teamwork and collaboration.

There’s something exceptional about Prosper High School Football, and I hope that you thoroughly enjoy your visit to Prosper ISD and fully immerse yourselves in the present moment. As fans and supporters, we kindly request that you respect the efforts of both teams and the referees, setting a positive example for the young athletes and fans who look up to you.

HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Eagle Nation: This is my favorite time of year when we get a chance to have so many parents, students, players, and fans inside Children’s Health Stadium. These are the moments that students remember when they think back on their high school years. My hope is that we can provide memories that are both special and cherished. As a former football coach here in Prosper, I remember how special it was to stand on the sidelines and be part of one of the best football programs in the entire state of Texas. We are blessed at our school that our athletic department compares to most small colleges. It makes me so proud that I get to represent Eagle Nation and cheer on our football team to a great season. I invite you to join me in being good hosts to the players, coaches, and families of the visiting teams.

I want to give a “special” thank you to the Mighty Eagle Band, the Color Guard, Cheerleaders, the Eagle Production Group, and our Talonettes. These groups spend countless hours preparing and working to put on a good show for all of our fans. It always amazes me how unbelievably fantastic each of these groups are and how much they add to the overall experience on Friday nights.

I want to thank our incredible superintendent, Dr. Holly Ferguson, and our Prosper ISD Board of Trustees. We are so fortunate to have these amazing facilities here in Prosper ISD. Our board does an amazing job working hard to make Prosper the destination district in our area. With their support we are able to have a terrific stadium, equipment and coaching staff. The support from Prosper ISD central administration is rivaled by none.

I want to thank our Executive Director of Student Engagement, Valerie Little, for her continued support of our athletic department at Prosper High School. Coach Little’s continued focus on athletic performance as well as classroom success helps make our athletes some of the most successful in the state.

I also want to highlight all of our families, fans, and students that help make Eagle Nation what it is.

Your endless support is what allows our coaches and students to give all they can on and off the field.

There is no greater student section in the world, and they give us an extra edge in all of our games.

I hope you enjoy the game and the season.

The beginning of a new season brings with it an abundance of opportunities for our program. This off-season brought with it changes to the surface of our program, but the expectations that we have for our student-athletes have not changed. With that in mind our mantra for the 2023 season is The Over Me. Regardless of changes occurring in Prosper, our school, or football program we will not compromise on what makes Prosper Football special for the young men that participate. The current reality and future of our program is more than the individuals that make up Prosper Football.

Last season was a landmark year for our football program. We achieved levels of excellence on the field that have not been met in 15 years with a 13-2 season and a trip to the state semi-finals.

While we are proud of our past success, we look to use it as a springboard for our future. We are not satisfied with one special season, but will continue to build on making this 2023 iteration of the Prosper Eagles the best it can possibly be.

With this in mind we also understand that Eagle Football is not solely driven by our desire to win football games. More important than what we do on the field is our development of the young people who are part of this program. At Prosper Football we believe in building resilient selfconfidence in our football players. We believe that gaining self-confidence is fueled by a continual cycle of failure and growth. We embrace the idea that failure is not the end of our journey, but a lesson needed to continue our growth.

Without failure we cannot find our limits and test ourselves to reach our maximum potential. This confidence and experience will serve our athletes well as they become adults who must deal with adversity.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who contributes to us achieving our goals. I truly believe that our success is produced by and belongs to all those who sacrifice to achieve it. In Prosper ISD, and especially at Prosper High School, we have the best administration and parents in education. Their commitment to our success is vital to allowing us to reach our goals.

2023 COACHING STAFF Coach Moore will be entering his 12th year as a Texas high school football coach and 8th year at Prosper High School. He has served as the Eagles Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach for the previous 7 years. Prior to joining the Eagles, Coach Moore served as the Wide Receivers coach at Cedar Park High School. He was born and raised in Georgetown, Texas and attended Texas A&M University where he received Bachelors in Kinesiology. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Devin, for 9 years and the couple has two young sons, Grayson (4 years) & Austin (16 Months).

Tyler Moore - Head Coach + Quarterbacks

Coach Thompson is beginning his 21st year of coaching, and 7th at Prosper High School. He previously coached at Princeton, Red Oak, Marshall, and Nevada Community high schools. He is originally from Howe, Texas and played football at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he was a 3 year Academic All conference player and 2 year starter on the offensive line. He graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Exercise Science and served as a graduate assistant while obtaining his Master’s in Education in 2003.

Goals for the season: Be recognized as the most physical offensive line in the district and help young men discover the work ethic to be successful when they graduate high school.

Coach Thompson is married to his beautiful wife, Melissa, and they have two children: Charlotte 9 and Madison 15.

2023 COACHING STAFF Coach Hill will be entering his 8th year as a Texas high school football coach and 1st year at Prosper High School. He will serve as the Eagles Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers coach. Prior to joining the Eagles, Coach Hill served as the Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers coach at Frisco Reedy High School. He attended and played Football all 4 years at Rice University in Houston, TX. He has been married to his wife, Taryn, for 5 years and the couple has two kids, Ava Joy (4 years) & Kingston James (2 years).

Malcolm Hill - Offensive Coordinator | Wide Receivers Coach Clary will be in his 9th year of coaching and entering his second at Prosper High School where he also coaches baseball and teaches World History. He is a graduate of Denton High School in 2006 and Lubbock Christian University in 2014, where he played baseball. His coaching stops include Slaton, Lubbock Cooper, Ranchview and R.L. Turner.

Coach Clary has been married to his wife of five years, Kelsey, who is also in education as an assistant principal. Coach Clary and Kelsey also have a 2-year-old daughter, Charlotte. When he is not at school, Coach Clary enjoys movies, live music, and spending time with his family.

Brendan Clary - Assistant Wide Receivers Coach Devereaux is originally from Houston,Texas and is a graduate from Henderson State University. He met his beautiful wife, Shuree Devereaux, who is also a Prosper ISD educator, while in college. They have been married for four years. They also enjoy fishing together and having weekly movie nights!

2023 COACHING STAFF Coach Petersen is in his 10th year of coaching, all of which have been at Prosper. This will be his 5th year coaching the safeties. After graduating from Prosper High School in 2009, he attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

He and his beautiful wife, Anna, have been married for 13 years. They have two boys, Chance (8) and Nash (5), and one girl Brooklyn (1).

Chase Petersen- Defensive Coordinator | Safeties This is Coach Couch’s 21st year coaching and his first at Prosper High School. Coach Couch comes from Braswell High School in Denton with previous stops at Mesquite High School, Allen High School, Plano SHS, Grapevine High School, Frisco Liberty High School, and Wylie East High School. He will be coaching freshman defensive line and baseball, as well as teaching Special Ed. Coach Couch is a graduate from Texas A&M University - Commerce. He is married to his beautiful wife, Jenifer, and has four children, Madison (22) Caleb (19) Kendall (8) Josie (2).

Brandon Couch - Defensive Line

Coach Hutti is in his 7th year of coaching, all of which have been in Prosper ISD. This will be his 3nd year at Prosper High School. He is a 2017 Graduate of Texas Tech University, where he received his Bachelors in History. He will be coaching the Freshman offensive line, and will also be coaching Track. Coach Hutti teaches World Geography.

2023 COACHING STAFF This is Coach Kight’s 3rd year at Prosper High School and 33rd overall. His coaching stops include Angelo State University, Howard Payne University, Round Rock Stony Point, Round Rock Westwood, Georgetown, and Frisco Lone Star.

He has been married to his wonderful wife, Jillian, for 22 years and has two children, Kyndall (17) and Cooper (15).

Darren Kight- Inside Linebackers

Originally from Pampa, Texas, he is entering his 18th year of coaching and teaching. Devin graduated from Texas Tech University where he played football. He also played in the NFL for 5 years before retiring and transitioning into coaching.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole, for 24 years and they have 3 amazing sons together. Gabe, played football and graduated from Oklahoma State University; Chris, is currently playing football at Texas Tech, and Isaac, who is a 5th grader.

Devin Lemons- Head JV Coach | Defensive Line This is Coach Mach’s 2nd year at Prosper High School and 24th overall.

Prior to Prosper, Coach Mach was at Hebron High School since 2002.

He served as Defensive Coordinator there since 2009. In 2005, Coach Mach was an assistant on Hebron’s Class 4A Division-II State Championship team. Before Hebron, Coach Mach was a Graduate Assistant at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 1 year, as well as Lincoln Pius X High School in Lincoln, Nebraska for 3 years before that. He was also an assistant on the Nebraska 1998 Class B State Championship team. Coach Mach is an alumni of the University of Nebraska, and is originally from Minden, Nebraska. He has been married to his wonderful wife, Lisa, for 17 years and has one child, Anton.

2023 COACHING STAFF This is Coach Lamberson’s 20th year coaching and his first at Prosper High School. Coach Lamberson comes from Trent Middle School in Frisco with previous stops at Plano Shepton HS, Carrollton RL Turner HS, McKinney North HS and Trimble Tech HS in Fort Worth. He will be coaching freshman linebackers, basketball, and teaching Earth and Space science. Coach Lamberson is a graduate from Kansas State University. He is married to his amazing wife, Kara, who works in the district and has an awesome daughter Avery, (13), who is an 8th grader at Rogers MS.

Ryan Lamberson - Assistant QB Coach Coach Lopez is entering his 2nd year coaching at Prosper High School and 9th year overall as a football coach. Prior to Prosper, Coach Lopez spent the last 3 years coaching in the Frisco ISD District and 4 years in El Paso, Texas, where he was born and raised.

Coach Lopez comes from a coaching family whose dad was a head baseball coach for 10 years, & has two older brothers who both coach football and softball in the area. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a bachelors in Biology.

He is married to his wife, Victoria, and they have three beautiful daughters, Isabella (13), Madelyn (11) & Autumn (1).

Justin Lopez - Secondary | Freshman Coach Richards is in his 20th year of coaching and this will be his 10th year at Prosper HS. He is a 2004 Graduate of Howard Payne University & completed his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2010. Prior to Prosper ISD, Coach Richards served Cameron ISD for 4 years as Football Coach and Head Baseball Coach. He also served Duncanville ISD for 7 years where he was the Defensive Coordinator for Football and coached Baseball. Coach Richards is married to Veronica who also coaches for PISD. They have 2 children, Halle (15) & Brody (13).

2023 COACHING STAFF This is Coach Smith’s 2nd year at Prosper High School and 9th overall in coaching & teaching. He previously worked at West Mesquite, Cypress Lakes, University of Texas at El Paso, and Leander Rouse.

He also played football at Sam Houston State between 2011-15.

He has been married to his wife, Madison, for almost 3 years now.

Beau Smith - H Backs Coach Trujillo is entering his 14th year coaching varsity football and his 1st year at Prosper High School. Coach Trujillo will serve as Running Backs Coach. Prior to Prosper, he coached at Rock Hill HS as Associate Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. He has also coached at Denton Braswell as Running Backs, Head Track Coach and Hamilton Southeastern (IN) as Defensive Backs Coach. He graduated from Denton Ryan HS, as well as Butler University where he played football for the Bulldogs. Coach Trujillo is married to his beautiful wife, Paige, and they have 2 kids, Sloane (4 Years) and Trae (8 Months).

2023 Athletic Trainers Michael Henry is in his 7th year at Prosper High School as the Head Athletic Trainer. His previous 12 years were at Leander ISD as an Athletic Trainer and Athletic Coordinator of Facilities and Operations.

Michael and his wife, Lesley, have been married for 16 years and have two children, Weston (12) and Hailey (10).

Michael Henry, LAT, ATC This is Amelia Easley’s 5th year at Prosper ISD. She is a graduate of Vega High school. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M University.

Amelia is a state licensed and nationally certified athletic trainer with experience in various sports medicine settings that include physical therapy and orthopedic clinics, as well high school and middle school outreach. Amelia and her husband have two sons.

Amelia Easley, MS, LAT, ATC

Sarah Tutton is one of the Athletic Trainers on campus and the Sports Medicine 1 teacher. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science and a minor in Business from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After graduating, she pursued a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. She also had the wonderful opportunity to spend two summers working with the USA Basketball girls U17 and U18 team trials and the U18 girls and boys 3v3 tournament at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Coach Tutton spent 2 years working as a certified Athletic Trainer in Lufkin ISD and is starting her 3rd year in Prosper ISD.

PISD Executive director of Athletics We would like to personally welcome our Eagles to Children’s Health Stadium! We are glad you could share in the performances of our students and athletes as they have worked tirelessly for this night! I ask you to keep in mind; this is much more than a football stadium. The lessons learned here through competition and teamwork will benefit our students for the rest of their lives and help them to become better athletes and better people, which is our main goal in Prosper ISD Athletics.

Prosper ISD Athletics had another very successful year in 2022-2023 both athletically and academically. Prosper student athlete, Lauren Lewis, from Prosper HS won two gold medals at the State Championship in the 200-meter run and the 400-meter run and won the Texas Girls Coaches Association Track Athlete of the Year. We also had Luke Sitz from Rock Hill HS win a gold medal in Diving. Finally, Skylynn Townsend won two gold medals for RHHS in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump events. She was the Texas Girls Coaches Association Field Athlete of the Year. This was the first time in the history of Texas Athletics that one school district, Prosper ISD, has had student athletes achieve both of these awards. We ended the year with 8 District Championships and one Regional Champion. After their performances in and out of the classroom, we had 65 athletes receive full or partial scholarships in order to pursue their higher education over the next few years, which is a great testament to their commitment. Our student’s academic success is just as important to us as their athletic success. We had 471 student-athletes garner Academic All-District honors and 112 of our students earned Academic All-State honors. We are so proud of all of our student-athletes and Coaches.

No matter the outcome of tonight’s game, every student and student-athlete involved appreciates your support while they perform and more importantly, afterward, regardless of the score.
