PISD Superintendent Welcome to Prosper High School Lady Volleyball! On behalf of Prosper Independent School District and the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees I would like to welcome you to our great community and to tonight’s volleyball game. I would like to extend a special greeting to the students, parents, and community members from our visiting school district as well as our own team as we share in an evening of celebrating the competition between schools. I would also like to thank our coaches for their commitment to the overall development of each of the student athletes that compete this evening. A good coach can change a game, but a great coach can change a life. The investment by the coaches on the court tonight comes from the heart to mold and develop the student athletes. The additional time and effort for student athletes should be applauded and admired. The work, dedication, character building and responsibility you see before you tonight will have a lifelong impact as each of these student athletes grows into adulthood. The moments that occur tonight are beyond special as these stories become stories that our student athletes will continue to tell through the years. Tonight, volleyball fans will share a universal language that will exude passion, enthusiasm and raw emotion. Please remember how important the moments you have before you tonight are to our student athletes. Support them, encourage them, and help us teach them the love of sportsmanship. In the end, volleyball is about unity and learning to work together as a team. It is my hope that you will enjoy your visit to Prosper ISD and live in the moment. As fans and supporters, we ask that you respect the efforts of both teams along with the officials as we enjoy tonight’s competition for there will be many young athletes and young fans observing and following your lead. As always, we appreciate your support of our student athletes and wish you a safe journey home. GO EAGLES!

PHS Principal Eagle Nation, What an exciting time it is for us to be able to watch our Volleyball teams in action! Not only are we a perennial powerhouse on the court, but our kids are also powerhouses in the classroom. Every year, you will see the names of our student athletes filling the rosters of “All Academic” and “All Athletic” teams at the District, Area, Regional, and State levels. This is due to our athletic mindset that we win on the field, and we win in the classroom! Their tenacity on the court and for their studies is matched by their kindness and servant leadership to others. We are very proud of our Volleyball program! Thank you to our families for your continuous support of our student athletes, of our coaches, and of PHS. You are a blessing to us and you help us to make PHS a place where our kids can pursue their passions and grow into leaders. Our kids are able to play this sport because of your love and encouragement. Enjoy the evening and Fight! Fight! Eagles Fight! For Kids,
John Dr. John M. Burdett

PISD Athletic Director Welcome back Eagle fans for another year of exciting volleyball action in the Nest at Prosper HS! We are excited more than ever to truly get into this season in light of ongoing challenges. We were fortunate to get back to a bit of normalcy with athletics and being around our student athletes and Coaches. I ask you to keep in mind; this is much more than an Arena. The lessons learned here through competition and teamwork will benefit our students for the rest of their lives and help them to become better athletes and better people, which is our main goal in Prosper ISD Athletics. Prosper ISD Athletics had another very successful year in 2020-2021 both athletically and academically. We ended up with two state champions in Aubrey O’Connell (Track) and LJ Richardson (WR) both from PHS as well as 3 State Runner-ups in individual events. We had 26 athletes qualify for the state level in their respective individual sports while 10 programs reached the state level of playoffs. At the Regional level, we had 16 programs qualify for Regionals while 16 individual athletes qualified. We walked away with 2 Regional Champions! To start their playoff runs, you must first qualify and make it out of your District. We had 24 of our programs achieve making playoffs this year. After their performances in and out of the classroom, we had 51 athletes receive full or partial scholarships in order to pursue their higher education over the next few years, which is a great testament to their commitment. Our students’ academic success is just as important to us as their athletic success. We are so proud of all of our student athletes and Coaches. No matter the outcome of tonight’s game, every student and student athlete involved appreciates your support while they perform and more importantly, afterwards, regardless of the score. Honor the Game,
Valerie Little Director of Athletics Prosper ISD

On behalf of the Prosper Eagle Volleyball Booster Club, I would like to thank all the parents, coaches, students and faculty for their continuous support of our amazing athletes and this program. It is my honor to serve as your president this year and be able to work alongside great people in a community and school system that truly cares about the growth and success of our athletes. I would also like to thank all of the businesses, sponsors and Cedarbrook Media for your support of our program. Our family has been blessed to be involved with Prosper Volleyball for nine years and there is a long-standing tradition of winning, community spirit and pride. I remember the days when there was not an empty seat in the stands, it was a white out and silent night until point six when the whole crowd would explode with enthusiasm. I love when the girls hold hands and rush to the net and stomp with excitement and anticipation of a great game. These are some of my favorite memories and I’m excited to make new memories this season as we PROTECT THE TRADI TION of success on and off the court. I am so proud to be a part of the best volleyball program in the state of Texas! Go Eagles!

From the Head Coach Prosper Volleyball Fans--Welcome to the 2021-2022 volleyball season! I am so glad to be able to say that we made it through the 2020-2021 season, and we are on to a more “normal” season, filled with tournaments, team travel, and more program activities involving all Prosper volleyball families! Last year we finished the abbreviated season 164, winning our 7th straight district championship, and advancing to the Regional Quarterfinals before losing to eventual state qualifier Flower Mound. We graduated 12 people, 9 athletes and 3 managers, and five of them signed to play at the collegiate level. While we graduated half of our team, we have certainly made it our mission to not rebuild but reload. Our team of 17 includes 5 sophomores, 8 juniors, and just 4 seniors; one of our youngest squads ever. However, any team that has underestimated or overlooked us has come up regretting that, as we ended the tournament season as a Top 10 ranked 6A team in the state of Texas, and a top 5 team in the DFW area after not being ranked in the pre-season rankings. Our Sub-Varsity teams are also loaded with talent again this year, another characteristic of Prosper Volleyball that I am so proud of. We have added two new freshman coaches, Coach Kirsten Yancey (9B) and Coach Cori Cate (9A). Both have a wealth of knowledge about volleyball, athletics, and relationship building. There is no doubt both freshman teams as well as Junior Varsity are going to be successful this season. On behalf of the program, I would like to welcome everyone to attend our matches at our beautiful, state of the art arena at PHS. We have one of the nicest facilities in the state and are proud to show it off. Thank you for your support for Prosper High School Volleyball. We would not be where we are without the support of our community. We are on a mission this season to “Protect the Tradition” that the teams before us have created; it is not taken for granted. Go Eagles! Coach Kauffman

In 2018, the Eagles entered 6A with a bang, winning the prestigious Pearland Tournament, captured the District 9-6A title with a perfect 12-0 record, and finished the season one win away from the State Final Four. Kauffman was named District Coach of the Year, Madi Whitmire was named District MVP, Dallas Morning News Setter of the Year, and was also named an Under Armour/AVCA First Team All American, one of 24 seniors in the country to win this award. In 2017, her Eagles went 46-6, capturing the UIL Class 5A State Volleyball Title, a first for any girl’s team at Prosper HS. Junior Ciera Hecht was named MVP of the State Tournament, and Junior Madi Whitmire was named to the All Tournament Team, as well as Dallas Morning News All Area Setter of the Year. Kauffman picked up her second Dallas Morning News All Area Coach of the Year, was named Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches (TAVC) 5A Coach of the Year, District 14-5A Coach of the Year, and was also the first recipient of the annual PISD High School Coach of the Year. The Eagles finished the season ranked #38 in the Nation according to MaxPreps, and four of the six seniors signed to play volleyball in college. In 2016, the Eagles went 40-9, won the Allen Open Tournament, and captured the District 14-5A title without dropping a set. They advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals before losing a five set heartbreaker to Wakeland. Senior Abby Gargus was named District MVP, Junior Haley Killinger was named District Hitter of the Year, Sophomore Ciera Hecht was awarded the District Defensive Player of the Year, and Kauffman won her second District Coach of the Year award. In addition, all three earned TGCA All State Honors. In 2015, the Eagles shared the District 10-5A title, and finished the season as Region II Quarterfinalists with a 39-10 record. Senior Ashley Brown was named the District Setter of the Year, as well as First Team All-Area by the Dallas Morning News. In 2014, her Eagles shared the District 10-5A title, and handed Lovejoy their first ever district loss. As a result, she was voted District 10-5A Coach of the Year by fellow district coaches. The 2014 Prosper Eagles finished 35-12, advancing to the Regional Finals, finishing the season ranked #3 in 5A, and #20 over all classes. In Kauffman's first year as Prosper Head Coach, her Eagles advanced to the 4A State Title Match. Kauffman was named Dallas Morning News Volleyball Coach of the Year, VYPE magazine DFW Volleyball Coach of the Year, SFASU Alumni Coaches Award, and was a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association "Thirty Under 30" Award, given to thirty coaches nationwide at the high school, club and college level who are under the age of 30. Prior to Prosper, Kauffman was the Varsity Assistant at Lovejoy HS, helping coach them to three straight UIL titles. Kauffman also spent four years at Stephen F. Austin State University, as the recruiting coordinator for the volleyball program. During Kauffman's time at SFA, the Ladyjacks set the Southland Conference record for consecutive conference wins with 63, and also advanced to the second round of the Division I NCAA Championships in 2006 by defeating the University of Alabama. Kauffman was a four year letterwinner at Saint Louis University, playing both setter and libero. She graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science, and holds a Masters of Public Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University (‘08). Kauffman and her husband Justin, who is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Frisco Centennial, reside in Prosper, with their two boys, Keegan and Blaise, and two adorable huskies, Osceola and Yuma, and are members of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney. Hayley Harrington “Prosper Volleyball has influenced my life in so many ways. I’ve learned to be more disciplined (still working on that), more patient and humble, how to laugh instead of cry, and how to be a better teammate and friend. The friendships and the relationships built over the years in this program have made even the hard days more fun, and I will definitely miss the daily chats with my girls and even the long bus trips... but I won’t miss deck of cards! Thanks to my coaches and teammates for your support over the years. It’s been fun!“ Jazzlyn Ford “Although my high school career is coming to an end, I am so thankful for the four years I have been able to be a part of the Prosper Volleyball program. I have so many great memories that I will never forget. I have met so many great teammates some of who will be life long friends. The coaches have prepared me to go and play college ball and I can’t wait to start my college career at Indiana State University and become a Sycamore!! Thank you Prosper Volleyball for everything.” Kamryn Vanatta “I feel so blessed to have found this sport when I was seven. The thrill and excitement of playing hard teams and challenging myself on and off the court makes me feel prepared for anything life might throw at me. My six years playing in the Prosper Volleyball program has also taught me how to be a better player and a stronger leader and teammate. Along this volleyball journey, I’ve met some amazing girls and coaches that I’m proud to call life-long friends. I will cherish these friendships, memories and skills forever. While I’m ready for the next chapter in my life, I will always be a Prosper Eagle!” Kendall Hewitt “For me, PVB has been an escape, no matter what was happening in my life or what I was dealing with, the moment I stepped on to the court, it shut everything else out. For those couple of hours, volleyball was the only thing that mattered and I can’t tell you how much I’ve appreciated it these past 4 years.”
