BE PART OF THE TRADITION. Dear Sharks, It gives me great pride to share the Long Island University Division of Student Affairs Annual Report for 2019-2020. It goes without say that this year was like no other. As a result of a global pandemic, the Division of Student Affairs was tasked with reshaping the student experience, student support services, and our residential communities. The result was a dynamic and engaged student experience that was enhanced through virtual experiences. This annual report features so many of our transformational initiatives from the past year. While building upon our past successes and leveraging our new brand, we remain more committed than ever to maximizing student success. As we embark on another academic year, we look forward with excitement of what lies ahead. We anticipate growth in our fraternities and sororities, new clubs, exciting new student spaces, and a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion programming. The introduction of our new online Student Life platform “Experience | Shark Nation” will further our efforts to provide students with the world class student experience synonymous with Long Island University. Thank you for your continued support of Student Affairs and Long Island University. Go Sharks! Sincerely,

Michael J. Berthel Executive Dean of Students
