'One of my favorite memories of Christmas growing up is when my sister and I would sneak a look under the tree when no one was looking. We are close in age and would often have similar gifts. I remember one year we swapped the name tags on 6. one of the gifts as we wanted what the other was getting! Nicole 5.

" For me Christmas brings back memories of a fabulous childhood of Christmas Day that was full of pomp and tradition created by my grandparents, to the carefree days of the long holiday from school. When I was in the Navy I loved that my family welcomed my friends who could not get home for Christmas into our family celebrations. We would fly into Melbourne for the day and fly out late afternoon so that we could work that night. I never missed a Christmas with my family. Then came children and grandchildren and I am doing my best to create the same excitement for them that I loved as a child. The 'grandies' are only little at present. The eldest who is 4, a 3 year old, two 2 year olds and a little girls on the way who will be here for Christmas. I do my best to take a photo each year of them standing by the Christmas tree to see how much they have grown over the last year - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Maybe you have some fun ideas that you do as part of your Christmas celebrations that you would like to share with us. Each year we hang my grandmother's musical Chistmas bell. This year my mother has passed on some of my grandmother's handmade Chistmas decorations so that will add to the story as we decorate the tree. This year I feel that the grandchildren are really able to participate in decorating the tree, the bottom half that is and I will put the delicates up the top for now. "I love putting the stockings out and filling them on Christmas Eve, we even have one for our dog Milly, though one year we forget to get her a toy so we just grabbed one of her old tennis balls and put that in she was absolutely thrilled! " Nicole
