Free f lu shots for seniors
The Town of Oyster Bay, in partnership with NuHealth (Nassau University Medical Center) will provide free flu shots to residents aged 60+. The Town of Oyster Bay’s Free Flu Vaccination Program will take

Optyx New York optometry and eyewear boutique, which is located in Woodbury Village, recently celebrated the successful launch of two more Long Island locations in spite of the pandemic’s economic impacts. Both new locations are along Long Island’s North Shore; one west of Syosset/Woodbury in Port Washington, Nassau County, and the other east of Syosset/ Woodbury in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County. The Woodbury Village location, which opened in May 2019, was the ninth Optyx to open in the New York metropolitan area, and the two locations announced and opened this year are numbers 10 and 11. While some industries have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, other service-based businesses have flourished in the age of social distancing. Optyx’s management explains that safety has been prioritized since the pandemic’s spread. At every Optyx boutique, customers/patients’ temperatures are taken upon arrival. Inside, masks are worn by all and doctors (optometrists) have plexiglass dividers in front of machines, to separate the doctor and patients during the entire eye exam process.
