Hitting the road: Heart and Sole 5K race back in person BY RIKKI MASSAND After the pandemic forced a shift to an all-virtual and nonsynchronous 5K race a year ago, Northwell Health Syosset and Plainview Hospitals’ 18th Annual Heart & Sole 5K event will be held in-person and live, on Sunday, July 18, 2021. It will be held at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School. In-person registration for the race begins at 7:00 a.m. on July 18 and the race begins at 8:30 a.m., with an award ceremony to follow immediately after it. The Children’s Fun Run, for kids

Syosset School Board to meet
The Syosset Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6 at South Woods Middle School, 99 Pell
Lane, Syosset. The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the District Wide School Safety Plan.

Oyster Bay man arrested for public lewdness Nassau County Police charged an Oyster Bay man with Public Lewdness for allegedly exposing his genitals at a drive thru business on Sunday, June 27 at 4:18 p.m. According to police, Abbate surrendered to police at the Second Precinct and was arrested. Detectives request anyone who feels as though they may have been victimized by the Defendant to please contact Police at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
