Legislator Lafazan along with organizations such as the Long Island Chinese American Association, Muslims of Nassau County (MCNC), the Community Church of Syosset (UCC), the Eid Holiday Coalition of Long Island & Muslim American Community of Syosset, the NAACP New York State Conference/Long Island region, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Long Island region, the Jericho Chinese Association, the India Day Parade committee and several other groups and nonprofits organized this week’s rally to condemn violence against the Asian-American community, after news reports surfaced of an increase in attacks in many U.S. cities. Lafazan sent an email blast last week explaining the need to have an organized show of solidarity and support across local organizations for combating the hate crimes, violence and discrimination people are facing here and across the country.
