Town extends outdoor dining to assist restaurants To help restaurants recover from the harsh economic realities of the pandemic and provide a family-fun outing for residents, Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board announce that Foodie Week – a unique opportunity for dining establishments to showcase their world-class culinary hotspots – will take place from December 5 to December 12. This week-long extravaganza will highlight the finest culinary creations local chefs, bakers, and artisans have to offer. The announcement was made at Butera’s Restaurant of Woodbury, who will participate in Foodie Week and serve as this year’s Restaurant Sponsor. Bethpage studio holds first live production since pandemic BY GARY SIMEONE The acclaimed 1977 musical hit production “Annie” was back and better than ever at the Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage last Thursday night. It was the first time that the facility put together a live studio production which was
aired on the NBC Network from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The name of the production was called “Annie Live!” Lyndsey Laverty, principal at the Gold Coast Studios, said that the live production had been a long time coming after the location paired up with NBC
over the summer. “We have had a longtime relationship with the NBC Network, and this was a project we had discussed with them," said Laverty. “We thought it would be a great idea to bring a studio audience here so they See page 10

Town outdoor ice skating rinks now open The Town of Oyster Bay’s outdoor ice skating rinks at Marjorie R. Post and Syosset-Woodbury Community Parks have officially opened for the season. “Ice skating is a fun activity for residents of all ages to enjoy, and the Town’s outdoor ice rinks provide the perfect setting to relax, unwind, and take in the wonderful winter atmosphere,” said Town Councilman Lou Imbroto. “Our outdoor ice rink facilities are the perfect antidote to combating cabin fever during the winter months, and are the ideal way to help make coping with the cold fun and enjoyable!” Public skating sessions are hosted
at both outdoor rinks on Fridays from 4 p.m.–6 p.m. and 7 p.m.–9 p.m., Saturdays from 1 p.m.–3 p.m., 4 p.m.–6 p.m., and 7 p.m.–9 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m.–3 p.m. and 4 p.m.–6 p.m. During holiday breaks, a special schedule takes effect, which is available on oysterbaytown.com. Also, for those who wish to take advantage of ice skating but do not wish to be outdoors, the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center is open year-round and is located at 1001 Stewart Ave. in Bethpage.
