Furthermore,

the community meeting will address concerns and mitigation plans regarding emerging contaminants, specifically 1,4-dioxane, which in recent months has been the subject of much discussion. Following the presentation, residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and have their concerns addressed by the District’s experts. “Water providers across Long Island are facing some serious issues with regards to implementing treatment for 1,4-dioxane and unfortunately we are one of them,” said the Hicksville Water District Chairman Nicholas Brigandi. The board of commissioners is asking residents to message them on Facebook or send an email to info@hicksvillewater.org with any comments they may have. “We want to do everything we can to guarantee that all Hicksville residents have their voices heard and have their questions answered,” said HWD Treasurer William Schuckman. “If you can’t attend this meeting, send us an email or a Facebook message. We want everyone in Hicksville to learn all they can about our most precious natural resource.”
