Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and representatives from G2D Development Group recently accepted the SmartGrowth Award from Vision Long Island to honor the recently opened ‘Work Smart’ office-sharing space and transit-oriented development that was opened in Hicksville adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road. This development, which signaled the beginning of a major renaissance for Hicksville’s downtown area, transformed a formerly vacant commercial space into a transit-oriented development that offered both new housing opportunities and an office-sharing concept dubbed ‘Work Smart.’
It was nearly a full house at the Hicksville Athletic Center last week as local officials, parents and students gathered to call for the reopening of high school sports in Nassau County. The County recently made the decision to postpone all fall athletics until 2021 over concerns of spreading the coronavirus. Student athletes from Hicksville, Massapequa, Jericho, Plainview, Seaford and Garden City were at the protest holding signs and banners pleading for the County to recon-

propriately touching a 14-year-old girl in Bethpage. According to police, between Thursday, August 16, 2018 and Tuesday, November 19, 2019, Edwing Geovany Perez-Bonilla, 36, inappropriately grabbed and forcibly touched a female juvenile, 14, while at her place of employment. Perez-Bonilla was arrested without incident on August 28, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Forcible Touching.
