Nephew arrested in stabbing death

David Cahoon Elizabeth Rincon and Adam Villano were married on Lido Beach on June 8th by Hempstead Town Clerk Sylvia Cabana. The Town of Hempstead is now offering “destination” beach weddings at its beautiful scenic shoreline locations. Town Clerk Sylvia Cabana will officiate at civil wedding vows at one of the specially selected Town of Hempstead Beaches. Every Saturday, from 5 pm– 7 pm, residents can choose to tie the knot at one of the following locations; Point Lookout Town Park, Lido Beach, or Hewlett Point Park. “Destination weddings are a popular option anytime of the year. For those

residents that choose to stay close to home, I am proud to offer a “summer destination wedding,” said Clerk Sylvia Cabana. “I look forward to making your special day very memorable as we create a unique ceremony at one of the town’s beautiful beaches.” Levittown residents Adam Villano and Elizabeth Rincon exchanged their vows on June 8 on Lido Beach. The couple, who had been together for seven years, met when they worked together and got engaged on Christmas Eve,

2018. The couple said they had wanted to do something different and said the beach wedding was a great experience for them. To get you started on your summer destination wedding, you will need a marriage license from the Hempstead Town Clerk’s office at least 24 hours before your ceremony. Nassau County Police arrested the nephew of a Levittown man who was found stabbed in his home in January. According to police, David Cahoon, Jr., 40, of Melville, stabbed his uncle, William Cahoon, 70, to death in the bedroom of the uncle's home on Shepard Lane, Levittown. The uncle's body was found on January 4 when police went to his residence for a welfare check. According to police, William Cahoon had been dead about a month. Police say the uncle had refused to give money to his nephew, who then stabbed him more than ten times.According to police, David Cahoon had tried to evade police since the killing. He was charged with second degree murder.

Bethpage HS teacher arrested for sexual abuse

Nassau County Police arrested a Bethpage High School teacher on June 19 for allegedly having sexual contact with a juvenile female victim. According to detectives, Joseph Gallagher of Smithtown engaged in sexual contact with an underage girl while employed as a teacher at Bethpage High School. The school was notified of a possible incident and contacted police who continued to conduct a thorough investigation. Galla-

gher was arrested without incident. Joseph Gallagher is charged with two (2) counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
