Financial management firm delivers Street Fair sponsorship, teamwork BY RIKKI MASSAND

Russell P. Green, a Syosset resident for the past 22 years and the current president of the Syosset Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, is eager to get the local business community in the spotlight as the 2021 Street Fair draws near. The event is set for Sunday, September 19 along Jack-

We entered kid-coding contests; we participated in virtual robotics competitions.” Dr. Rogers said he appreciates that the pandemic has taken its toll on some students and Syosset families. “We know people who have suffered losses. It certainly has been a difficult year.” He noted that the district is

working with an outside health care agency to provide support services to students and families that need assistance in coping with mental, emotional and physical issues created by the covid crisis. Dr. Rogers said that like many other districts in Nassau County, Syosset is making mask-wearing mandatory for students and teachers indoors, but optional for outdoor activities. “By now,” he said, “children and their parents have gotten accustomed to wearing masks for safety, so there’s no real problems for them in requiring even small children to wear the masks to assure their safety.” He commented that the staff See page 12

Time capsule to be unveiled, dedicated at Comm Church BY RIKKI MASSAND Keeping memories and community history alive for future generations, the Community Church of Syosset will dedicated a time capsule for 2020-21 during September. gral role in the community since 1860. The time capsule will be concealed beneath the altar and it is to be opened on the occasion of the Church’s 200th anniversary -- in 2061. A special ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September See page 12
