Fireworks show at Town announces winners of bike safety poster contest TOBAY Beach on July 12 The Town of Oyster Bay will be hosting a “Salute to America,” the Town’s upcoming free Grucci Fireworks Show and Concert scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, at the special start time of 7:30 p.m. at TOBAY Beach. “Salute to America” will feature a performance by Alex Shillo’s Tribute to Bruce Springsteen and will conclude with a spectacular firework show by Grucci. This event honors veterans and members of the United States Armed Forces. Concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs and pack a cooler, as no formal seating exists. Police officers injured during arrest Two Nassau County Police were injured during an altercation as they were arresting a suspect on June 21st. According to police, Nassau County Police were summoned to the Kohl's department store at 1:26 p.m. when store employees said that a male subject currently in the store, was responsible for an incident that occurred on Monday, May 16, 2022. Police say that when they attempted to conduct an investigation, the man attempted to flee the store. According to police, when

they stopped the man a struggle ensued. They say he refused to comply with officers’ commands and continued to resist arrest. Additional officers responded and the subject was subdued. Julius White, 35, of, Roosevelt was arrested. Police say one officer suffered injuries to his neck, left knee and right middle finger. A second officer suffered injuries to his knees and was spit on. Both officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
