Arrest in February gas station robbery

Nassau County Police have arrested a suspect in the robbery of a local gas station in February 2023.

According to police, on Monday, February 13, at 1:58 a.m. Jose Nieves, 28, entered the convenience store of the BP gas station, 200 South Oyster Bay Road. Police say Nieves had his hand in his pocket, and threatened that he had a gun.

According to police he confronted a 23-year-old employee and demanded the cash from the register. The victim, fearing for his life, complied and gave the subject an unknown amount of US currency.

After an investigation, Nassau County detectives arrested Jose Nieves and charged him with Robbery.
