Hicksville budget vote, trustee election set for May 18 Hicksville voters: Please remember – Hicksville Public School’s Budget Vote and Trustee Election will be held in-person on May 18th OR by Absentee Ballot due to the District Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on May 18. The Town of Oyster Bay recently joined with Councilman Tom Hand and Councilman Lou Imbroto and members of the Hicksville Fire Department to plant trees in honor of Earth Day. The trees planted at the event replaced trees along Levittown Parkway in Hicksville that had fallen in recent storms. “Happy Earth Day! I am delighted to announce that the Town continues to do our part to protect the planet and preserve our natural resources.
In fact, my administration has consistently made protecting the environment our top priority,” Supervisor Saladino said. “Earth Day is an important day to appreciate Mother Nature and all the amazing things we’ve been gifted by our environment. The Town will continue to support environmental initiatives and plant trees.” The Town recently hosted the Oyster Bay Harbor Cleanup event to help rid the shoreline of unwanted and discarded debris and refuse. In addition
to planting trees in Hicksville, the Town will continue visiting sites around Town to plant trees, with upcoming plantings planned for sites in Locust Valley and Oyster Bay. Supervisor Saladino added, “The Town is blessed with beautiful shorelines on both the north and south, and my administration has continuously demonstrated its commitment to protecting our environment, our water quality, and our shorelines!”

New assistant superintendent The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District has announced the appointment of James Bolen, Ed.D. as the District's new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Bolen, who served as an Assistant Principal in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District from 2012– 2015, will be succeeding Mrs. Joanne Mannion, who retired from the District last month.
