THE MQA HOSTS DHET AND SETAS ENGAGEMENT

The MQA had the pleasure of hosting the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Forum, on 07 March 2023, held at the Premier Hotel Midrand.

This event came as a response to the DHET request for the MQA to host the SETA CEO forum. An estimate of sixty-five (65) delegates attended the forum. This number included twenty-one (21) SETA CEO’s, DDG Officials and the National Treasury Officials. Similar DHET SETA CEO’s forum are hosted by various SETAs on a rotational basis.

DHET Director General, Dr Nkosinathi Sishi opened the event and honoured all the CEOs for the value they contribute to the SETAs and the country at large. In his remarks he alluded to the fact that the success of most of the SETA projects depends upon everyone, working together as envisioned in our white paper for past school education and training as well as identified national plans.

Presentations were conducted by the representatives from the following organisations:

• South Africa Public Organisation (SAPCO)

• DHET

• Auditor General of South Africa

• Digital Skill Framework

The event was successful as the number of delegates that attended, exceeded the number expected.
