Having joined SANParks during the pandemic, I did not know what was expected of me because the normal had just become abnormal. It started with the cost curtailment measures, moves to concessionaires failing to pay their dues, projecting cash flows on a daily basis just to ensure that there was enough money pay salaries. I am grateful to have been part of the team despite the volatile environment. As we close the year, I wish SANParks all the very best in the audit process and trust that everyone will give the finance team all the support they need.

Working for the South African National Parks has clearly been an incredible honour and a pleasure.
