Lisle 202 is proud to offer a wide variety of athletic opportunities to our students...but it might be for more reasons than you think. Our district believes that engaging and challenging students to excel is central to building skills and habits that are essential for work and life. Athletics is one way to accomplish this.
ENGAGEMENT
A wide body of research has shown that extra-curricular participation positively effects students’ success in school. Here in Lisle, we encourage our students to try as many things as possible to find that thing they are passionate about...the thing that gets them excited each day. For many students, engaging in athletics is more than just playing a sport, it is a way to build relationships and hone positive attributes that can be applied beyond the school experience.
LEADERSHIP
Leadership takes many forms on a team. Our athletes are encouraged to lead through committing to their personal and team growth, building communication skills, and through positive support for one another.
LIFE SKILLS
Lisle 202 is committed to supporting students in acquiring skills that translate to life beyond our schools. Understanding how to effectively balance school and athletics is crucial as well as contributing to a team. Sophomore Avery C. said, “I’ve learned how to interact and work with others to be a successful team.”
EXCELLENCE
Lisle 202 sets a standard of excellence both for individuals as well as our teams. We celebrate personal growth in striving for excellence as well as the collective accomplishments of our teams.
STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATE IN ATHLETICS AND/ OR ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOL LEARN VALUABLE SKILLS FOR WORK AND LIFE SUCH AS TEAMWORK, COOPERATION, RESPONSIBILITY, PROBLEM-SOLVING, DECISION-MAKING, TIME MANAGEMENT, AND LEADERSHIP.
