DOG RESCUE

SGDR began over 10 years ago as a grass roots organization when founder Shawn South-Aswad and her husband began taking in a few dogs here and there who found themselves in need of a place to lay their sweet heads until they could be placed in permanent, loving homes. Shawn soon developed a deep love for and special touch with seniors and medical needs dogs that required one on one attention and were being overlooked by the general rescue population. At the same time, more and more special needs dogs required their help to survive and thrive and Shawn decided that it was

time to slowly grow the rescue into what is now Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue. Today, over 50 active volunteer foster families open their homes to these amazing dogs and “raise them like their own� until the perfect match of a forever home is found. In addition to their large foster program, SGDR also now includes a hospice program. Snooty Giggles is a registered 501(c)(3), operated solely with volunteer manpower and funded by volunteer donations.

With more and more dogs in need of specialized care, Snooty Giggles needs more volunteers and funding to continue its mission!

We take in 350 abandoned dogs each year.

Dogs are abandoned for being “too old,” “not cute enough” or because they are in need of medical care that owners don’t want to pay for.

80% OF OUR DOGS REQUIRE SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE

Specialized surgeries and emergency needs average $12,000 per month

Even with local veterinarians providing “at cost” care, our medical expenses still far outweigh our operating costs.

ROUTINE MEDICAL COSTS AVERAGE $30,000 PER MONTH
