for girls chorus DURATION c. 6:00 PERFORMANCE NOTE: The glissandi used throughout the piece should be executed evenly and for the full value of the note. In measures 61-65 and 70-75, the effect of the Soprano 2 line should be that of one continuous descending glissando, passing through the written pitches at the notated times.

I. . . liked it very much when I was there for the first time in April, when white snow still lay between the clumps of yellow primroses. Strawberries and mushrooms are a very welcome prospect; we are bound to discover some lovely walks in no time. . . .we will read and write and wander about in the woods; if only the Almighty doesn't spoil the summer for us by making it rain all the time, it can be very beautiful. . . .before you have reread this letter several times, [I] will be there, too.
