JUDGED 2020 bbq competitions this year, everyone can be a pitmaster

This year in light of social-distancing, we are transforming the event into a virtual experience. This is your chance to take the spotlight. Join Pitmasters from around the country, families, friends, and the military and as they put their BBQ to the test. Enter our online BBQ contests judged by the Nation’s top Pitmasters themselves: Myron Mixon, Tuffy Stone, and Moe Cason, for the 2020 National BBQ Championship title. There are countless prizes, cooking demos, videos, and recipes centered around transforming your summertime celebrations into a happy, healthy, and fun event.

Competitions will include: The Giant® National Capital BBQ Battle, Perdue Sizzlin’ Chicken Contest, Smokin’ with Smithfield Rib Contest, Turkey Smoke BBQ Cooking Contest, National Beef Cook-Off, USO Military Chefs Cook-Off, America’s Best Burger, and “You be the Judge”

This year we have included a Junior Chef Competition for children up to 17 years of age, which will include a round one judging by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and a final round of judging by celebrity VIP Judges. This year’s VIP Judges will include: Dave Johnson (WTOP), Peter Bondra (Washington Capitals & NHL Hall of Fame), John Walton (Celebrity Sports Caster & Voice of the Capitals), as well as others.

military chef cook-off Through USO-Metro’s partnership with Giant, the Military Chef Cook-Off has become a BBQ Battle staple, and this year is no different.
