Founded in 1898 by William Lapedes and his mother Rebecca, LION has developed an unyielding drive to protect those who protect us. After becoming a trusted supplier of firefighter station uniforms, we realized the need for advanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that would protect first responders as they continued to put their lives on the line in increasingly dangerous emergency situations daily. LION responded to the call for action to provide the very best gear for firefighters and first responders.
Today, this dedication to fire safety extends beyond PPE gear to comprehensive training solutions. Our focus on safety comes forward in our work with departments of all sizes, including volunteers, to ensure that all first responders have access to the best equipment and training. Our products are designed to empower first responders in every aspect of their duties. While remaining a family business, we have the organizational and financial resources to execute some of the largest uniform, personal equipment management contracts and training projects in the world, as well as the flexibility to tailor them to our customers’ expectations.

For firefighters, heat and smoke are the real enemies. Therefore, when training with carbon-based fire it is critical to be well-prepared. LION’s carbon-based fire training simulators give off real heat and heavy smoke that most realistically simulate a real fire incident.
Realistic, intense training in a safe and controlled environement
Our Carbon-based Fire Technology features dual combustion technology to create fire using both gas and wood. It is controllable when the fire is being ignited and extinguished. It can be relit several times after training sessions without having to load more wood into the burnerdepending on how wet the fire crib is. Even in the toughest training conditions, trainees are safe with built-in water suppression systems and smart controls.
SMOKE GENERATION
To produce the most realistic emergency scenarios, smoke generation is a key component in challenging trainees in low- to zerovisibility situations without exposing them to toxic particulates. LION Smoke Generators use patented technology to create dense, heavy smoke that behaves just like the real thing, evolution after evolution.
