Autumn Greetings
This month, Cape Town celebrated the annual cycle tour in perfect weather. This event, together with the Autumn Equinox heralds the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. May all our readers challenged by the many shifts we are experiencing locally and globally, celebrate with our co-working team, the incredible resilience and creativity of human beings in South Africa. We all heard such wonderful stories of ‘uplift, rising & thriving’, despite the bleak news that seems to pour in continuously from media reports. Whilst not oblivious or ‘by-passing’ real hardships that many are experiencing right now, we are witnessing the rise of positivity, rise of ‘solo-preneurs’, people finding their destiny paths; and thousands of citizens who were able to ensure that the 20th March protest ran fairly peacefully.
In this edition, we highlight ‘keeping our goals and visions for 2023 on track’; a fabulous international training of teachers in Yoga during June (see backpage and advertorial); the Interfaith Conference, as well as Energy Medicine Conference in April. No doubt the ‘no money article’ will be helpful and a real working study for some. Do check the Community Calendar for other dates.

Keeping 2023 on track – do you need a reset?
Following on from our invitation to enter 2023 anew, setting new goals and aims for a purposeful and awesome journey – how are you doing?
Is everything working well for you? Fabulous and Good!
However, if you are struggling or finding parts of it challenging, here are some things you could do:
Perhaps you want to reach out to the many coaches available in town? I would like to suggest Marion Nixon who is a positive mindset coach. She writes regular newsletters and a month ago, she wrote inviting everyone to ‘say something good about yourself to yourself’. Negative self-talk could be something you are struggling with at least some of the time.
She mentions an e-book “Turn your Inner Critic into a Supportive Fan” describing another inner voice mastery process that you can use to ‘take control of your inner voice – a key to living happily, as well as to succeeding in achieving whatever goals you have for your life’.
Perhaps you just need a RESET? Just revisit your goals and aims for 2023, and do a reset now that the first quarter of the year has revealed its colours and textures in your field of creative possibilities that allow for clearer seeing of what and why some resets are required?
Make some quiet space to meditate on what goals and aims need fine-tuning or resetting as the shifts and changes have arrived in your world on the outside, as load-shedding increases and decreases, and for some, a multitude of challenges in various areas of your life? What internal changes would best meet your needs to actualize success and the realization of living a more fulfilling life?
Revisit your Vision Board, or revisit https://yearcompass.com, or https://www.mindvalley.com/lifebook Marion Nixon can be reached on https://marionnixon.co.za

How is your Economy: Advantages of the Community Exchange System
Here are some of the advantages of using the Community Exchange System
• It provides an alternative way of acquiring goods and services, and so reduces our dependence on money
• It bridges the ‘money gap’ between the skills/ offers/talents/gifts of providers and the wants/ needs that we all have. Conventional money usually can’t bridge this gap because its supply is limited or non-existent.
• It builds community by creating links with those around us who can help satisfy our requirements
• CES provides a range of exchange options: time exchange, swaps, barter, gifting, sharing, time banking, metric currencies, virtual currencies
• CES’ metric currencies measure and so can never be in short supply like conventional issued, circulating currencies
• CES’ metric currencies can never be in oversupply and cause inflation
• It is democratic: it returns the ‘money power’ to the people
• It allocates credit democratically
• It eliminates usury. Its money is ‘free’ (i.e. interest free)
• It keeps wealth where it is created
• It eliminates cheating, theft and fraud (of money)
• It provides a support network
• It eliminates the problem of providers not being paid for what they supply
• It reconciles the accounts of providers and recipients immediately
• It promotes honesty because one can never ‘run out of money’
• It levels the playing field: everyone starts from zero and those who deliver real value to others are the ones who get ‘rich’, not those who deliver nothing but acquire their wealth by rent seeking, manipulating the currency and other nonproductive activities
• It gives local suppliers preference
• It eliminates the waste of transporting goods from all over because its focus is local
• It destroys the notion that the source of money is a job: the source of ‘money’ is the delivery of value from one entity (person, company etc.) to another
• It streamlines transactions and eliminates wasted effort (e.g. sending accounts, debt collecting)
• It mobilizes the real wealth of a community: The knowledge and skills of its people is the real wealth of a community
• It fosters self-reliance and self-esteem
• It fosters social justice and equality
• And many, many more…

More about Trish. “My interest in natural health and wellness began when I was in my early teens, when I started making my cosmetics and ‘medicines’. My hobby continued into my late teens when I was sent to university to study psychology.” After graduating with a B.Soc Sci, Trish went on to qualify as a herbalist and furthered her studies through an American university with Ayurveda (mind-body medicine). She is also a Yoga teacher. “My knowledge and experience in the wellness industry has helped me immensely overcome obstacles” says Trish. “My absolute joy and passion in life is guiding and teaching other people how to live healthy, happy, balanced lifestyles. Whether I do private consultations or work with a group of people, there is nothing better than teaching people how to tweak their diets, sleep, exercise etc. to live healthier, more balanced lifestyles and then seeing the results.” Trish supports the position that we all intuitively know how to stay healthy and prevent significant illness and offers wellness initiatives that support this.
