Now a five-time NWC Softball Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week in 2022, Kelley was nearly untouchable in the circle for the first-place Wildcats as they swept Puget Sound, three of those games ending in five innings due to eight-run mercy rules. Kelley picked up two wins and a save against Puget Sound. She threw four innings in a combined no-hitter against the Loggers in Friday’s opener. She issued one walk but struck out every other batter that she faced, finishing with 12 Ks. Kelley earned her

taryn fujimori second save of the season in Friday’s nightcap, striking out the side in the last inning. She came back in Game 3 on Saturday and struck out 10 more batters while allowing just one run on one hit in five innings of work. Kelley is 18-3 on the season and leads the NWC with 182 strikeouts and a 1.16 ERA. Fujimori was selected as the NWC Women’s Tennis StudentAthlete of the Week for the second straight week after leading the Wildcats to a pair of wins in eastern Washington. The ‘Cats (10-2, 6-0 NWC) now sit atop the NWC after taking down Whitman. In Saturday’s huge 6-3 win over Whitman, Fujimori won her No. 2 singles match over the Blues’ Erica Mock with scores of 6-4, 6-4 and 6-0. WOMEN’S SPORTS HISTORY SOUGHT Did you participate in women’s sports while at Linfield? Dr. Laura Kenow, professor in Health, Human Performance, and Athletics, is heading efforts to create a more complete historical record of women’s sports at Linfield. Help is needed from those who participated prior to 1990, but all stories are welcome. Please complete this short survey to share your Linfield women’s sport experiences and help build our historical knowledge. Throughout the spring and fall of ’22 there will be a variety of events celebrating Linfield Women’s Athletics as part of the 50th anniversary of the passing of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. If you have questions about the survey, sharing your story, or the upcoming events, please contact alumni@linfield.edu.

NFCA TOP 25 POLL linfield climbs to 10th in top 25 poll Christopher Newport kept rolling to remain the No. 1 team in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll for a fourth-straight week. CNU (27-1) swept Meredith in its only action this past week. No. 2 Salisbury (28-2) kept pace with two victories of its own, while third-ranked Texas Lutheran (29-4) and No. 4 BirminghamSouthern (28-4) each swept a three-game conference series. Meanwhile, East Texas Baptist (22-7) and Eastern Connecticut State (20-4) hopped over Belhaven and RandolphMacon after those two both lost. DePauw (18-6) held steady at No. 9, while Linfield (29-7) took all four games of a conference series from Puget Sound to round out the first 10. No. 11 Virginia Wesleyan (25-8) regained three spots this week after outscoring opponents 58-4 over six contests. The reigning NCAA champion Marlins have won eight of their last 10. Two teams that had a rough start to their season, but have a long program pedigree of success — MIT and Trine — now find themselves in the mix after getting things going. The (15-8) Engineers are tied for the 24th spot with Millikin after splitting with a ranked win over Tufts and a sweep of both Emerson and Clark. After not playing for two years due to COVID-19, MIT has now won 14 of its last 15 games.
