My name is Lindsay recent graduate from Liberty University Interior Design and a minor in Busines University has been prepared me for the plan to integrate into. I am a functional designer who is able draw attention to the minute details without losing focus of the big picture. MIXED-USE URBAN IN-FILL PROJECT (FALL 2023)

For my final course at Liberty University, I was challenged to design a mixed-use, urban in-fill building for the downtown scape. In a booming college town, my goal was to create a building geared towards that rapidly growing demographic. Some tenants that I have conceptually included are: bakery, coffee shop, group exercise studio, luxury apartments, formal restaurant, bookstore, and rooftop bar/lounge. This creative project was a culmination of all my knowledge I have accrued during my education, and I thoroughly enjoyed each step of the design process

ASSISTED LIVING PROJECT (SPRING 2023)

I was tasked with the challenge of designing a nursing care facility that would provide care for 20 assisted living and 10 memory care residents. Some of the amenities found at Smith Mountain Serenity would include formal dining rooms, theatre, grocery store, private offices, greenhouse, and state of the art rehabilitation center. Smith Mountain Serenity is designed with the mental and physical health of each resident, allowing them to remain in touch with their world safely

COMMERCIAL HOSPITALITY INTERNSHIP

During this 10-day internship, I joined Ave Bradley, senior interior designer for Kimpton Hotel and Restaurants, and her team as they concluded The Kimpton: Forum Hotel in Charlottesville, Virginia. In the final days before opening, photographer, Cris Molina, and his team joined the designers to complete the hotel's styled photoshoot displaying the key spaces in the hotel. By helping to prep, set up, and tear down different shots, I was able to see this unique stage in commercial design. Styled shoots are the culmination of a design team's work before they close the books on a project, and for companies like Kimpton, these images are utilized many years after the designers' scope of work.

INTERIOR DESIGN INTERNSHIP

Working as an intern and CAD drafter at an interior design firm involved supporting the designer in various aspects of the design process. My role required strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD software. As an intern, I was responsible for tasks such as participating in meetings, project schedules check-ins, digital drafting, and communicating with clients and vendors. As a CAD drafter, I created detailed drawings and plans based on the designer's specifications, including floor plans and elevations. This position allowed me to apply the design process to real-life deadlines and projects, and I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity.
