SPORTS
JR JAZZ BASKETBALL
Compete in Junior Jazz Basketball this winter with Lindon City. This coed league will focus on passing, dribbling, shooting, and man-to-man defense (with colored wristbands) in a fun, low-pressure environment. Participants will be notified if there is a change in facility. All leagues are recreation, scores and standings will not be kept. Junior Jazz jersey provided.
Registration: July 1 - Dec 1
Season: Jan 20 - Mar 2
Fee: $50 (2nd Grade & under), $55 (3rd Grade & up)

CLASSES


CHESS CLUB
The Lindon Community Chess Club will be held every Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Lindon Community Center and is FREE! There will be an hour of instruction and two hours of game play. First time? No problem! Come learn how to play chess or improve your skill with others. All ages are welcome. Bring your friends and come enjoy and evening of chess!

Picnic in the Park

ESports Adventure Tournament
Imagine Pokemon Go meets the Legend of Zelda! This new FREE ESport adventure will get you moving all over Lindon to compete in challenges and battle it out to find the treasure. Join the battle to win cool prizes!
The game starts on Sept 14 at the Picnic in the Park event. Make sure to watch the website and Lindon City social media for more information and details for the game.

Help us start the fall season by spending your evening with Lindon Parks & Recreation for a family night at City Center Park on Sept 14 at 6:00 PM.
Bring a picnic for your family and eat some delicious apple pie dessert and ice cream provided by Parks & Rec while we enjoy some bluegrass music!!

MOVIES IN THE PARK
Who is ready for another great summer of Movies in the Park sponsored by Bank of Utah! All movies are free and will start at dusk unless otherwise specified! A small treat and drink will be provided. CALL FOR HALLOWEEN TRUNKS
Our annual Halloween Spooktacular is next month on Oct 25! We are looking for businesses and induviduals to provide trunks to participate in the Halloween Truck-or-Treat. This event draws a large crowd and is a great way to be a part of our great community! Prizes will be awarded for the best trunks. This event has been moved to City Center Park and will include a Haunted Heritage Trail walk.

UTAH STATE FAIR ART EXHIBIT
Come to the Lindon Community Center to check out an art exhibit from the Utah State Fair. Lindon was selected as one of the locations for this exhibit. This traveling art show is put on through the Utah Division of Arts & Museums and displays submitted photography from the Utah State Fair. Visit the Lindon Community Center during business hours to view the art exhibit.

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS
This year, Lindon City celebrates its 100th year as a city! There will be MANY fun events and programs to participate in throughout the year as we celebrate our centennial celebration! Make sure you follow LindonRecreation.org/centennial for all the programs and events. You can also text “100” to 801-769-8625 to get updates on all the Centennial events and activities happening this year.


PURCHASE DOWDLE PUZZLE AND PRINTS!
Order your puzzles and framed giclée prints today! We are out of 1,000 piece puzzles but still have 300 and 500 piece puzzles. All framed giclée prints are pre-sale only. You can order your puzzles and prints Online or at the front desk of the Community Center.
All puzzles can be picked up at the Community Center Monday-Friday from 9:00-6:00 PM. Print orders will be notified when their order has arrived. Head to LindonRecreation.org/ centennial to purchase your puzzle or giclée prints today!
LINDON CITY CENTENNIAL MOSAIC
Participate in the Lindon City photo mosaic! We will be collecting photos from residents to help create a mosaic of the City Center building with each of the submitted photos. This mosaic will be placed in the city for everyone to visit and find their photos. The mosaic will be unveiled in December to help commemorate the Centennial year.

CENTENNIAL TREE PLANTING
In preparation of Lindon’s 100-year centennial celebration in 2024, the Lindon City Mayor and Council members have issued a challenge to see if the city can plant 1,000 new trees or woody shrubs staring in March of 2023 until October 2024. Trees planted on private and public property count towards this goal. Go to LindonRecreation.org/trees or scan the QR code to report your tree planting today!
LINDON CARES

COMMUNITIES THAT CARE
Lindon Cares is an evidence-based prevention coalition working to strengthen families, build community resilience, and reduce the risk of addiction, substance misuse, abuse, and suicide. Gather more information, sign up for free classes, or search local resources at lindonrecreation.org/lindoncares.
GUIDING GOOD CHOICES
Guiding Good Choices gives families information and tools that work to protect preteens and teens from the inevitable risks they encounter as they become more independent. Families will learn ways to build or maintain lasting relationships, because teenagers who are more closely connected to their families have better health and educational outcomes.
This free workshop is for parents of kids aged 9-14 years old. The workshop is held Monday’s from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Lindon Community Center. For more information or to sign up, go to LindonRecreation.org/lindoncares.


PRACTICING YOUR GROWTH MINDSET CLASS
Adolescence can be a time of self-discovery and rapid growth, physically and mentally. This class will be an opportunity for adolescents aged 12-17 to practice growth mindset through recreational therapy (RT). Growth mindset is a term used in positive psychology which re-frames that challenges are opportunities for growth. This class will provide therapeutic activities with peers in self-expression, healthy thinking, gratitude, learning from failure, resilience, and adaptability.
The class is Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 PM and is taught by a Master in Therapeutic Recreations MTRS. Go to LindonRecreation.org/lindoncares for information and to sign up.
