On behalf of the Lindon City Council, volunteers, and staff, we welcome all to Lindon Days! With the theme, “Let’s Make a Splash!” it is sure to be a spectacular week bringing together families of all ages in events and activities that will help us connect as a community, honor tradition, and build lasting memories as we celebrate this amazing town we call our home.

Historical accounts tell us that Lindon started out as grazing lands with just a few businesses and homes that gradually built along (or close to) current day State Street, dubbing it “Stringtown”. A Linden tree where the Pony Express mail stopped was the inspiration for our name when folks decided to apply to become an official town. When the paperwork came back from Washington D.C., the spelling had a small error, but the residents decided to just let “Lindon” stick. Historical accounts say that community gatherings or celebrations were held sporadically, but it wasn’t until 1940 when Alroy Gilman (born in 1901 in Lindon) presented an official proposal for a community fair to be held annually. Thus, “Lindon Days” was born.

Lindon Days has continued to build tradition, fun family time, and community connection. Don’t miss the new Speed Slide that is sure to be a “Splash” at the pool, as well as enjoy a delicious breakfast with our Police and Fire heroes at the Public Safety building while helping provide feedback on our General Plan that is currently under review to map out Lindon’s future.

We also are very proud of our incredible young ambassadors whom you’ll see helping at various events, including our Little Miss Lindon, along with the brand-new Youth City Council and Police Academy youth.

Lindon has seen much success and growth with many people and businesses establishing here since those small-town beginnings, yet we still hold true to our rich heritage as a neighborly community that will never be too big to be a friendly place to live, work and play. Whether you’re a longtime resident, have recently moved into our city, or are just visiting, please join us in celebrating Lindon Days 2022 this July 30th - August 6th!
