THIRTY LINDALE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SELECTED FOR TEXAS BANK AND TRUST STUDENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS Texas Bank and Trust is pleased to announce the selection of 30 seniors from Lindale High School to serve on its 2021-2022 Student Board of Directors. The TB&T Student Board is a prestigious program recognizing outstanding high school seniors in the community.

The 2021-2022 Student Board members will be introduced to the TB&T bank staff in a Virtual Welcome Reception, to be held at 7 pm, Thursday, September 2, via Zoom. Parents and school administrators are invited to join in to view the broadcast.

The LHS seniors who qualified for this year’s Student Board make up the 12th senior class to participate in the TB&T program in Lindale.

The participating seniors include Abigail Alexandris, Brylee Bergbower, Lian Boone, Gunner Brown, Collin Christian, Bailee DeWolfe, Emilee DeWolfe, McKinleigh Evans, Leslie Gallegos, Zane Gano, Emily Havens, Gavin James, Alexandra Keels, Nathalie Kramer, Halle Lambert, Vivian Lehmann, McKenzie Manning, Jesika Miller, Emily Myers, Aryan Patel, Sarah Richardson, Caleb Riches, Aaron Roden, Chloe Smith, Marlee Sorrells, Cody Swaim, Jay Thornhill, Preslie Walters, Elizabeth Watkins, and James Watkins III. The Student Board program is designed to introduce students to banking and money management at a critical point in their lives, and to provide them with the essential economic

building blocks to earning, spending, saving, and investing money. The students will be challenged this year in stock game competition, entitled BULLS VS. BEARS. Back by popular demand, this legacy Student Board curriculum will take the students through a deeper dive into investing as they follow the stock market throughout the year with their “investment funds.”

Students will also serve as advisors to the bank on youth financial literacy programming throughout the year.

Established in 1978, Student Board remains the bank’s first and most enduring financial literacy program.

Students were selected based on their grade point average, extra-curricular activities, and after school work activities. Students must submit an essay with their application as well as two letters of recommendation from either a faculty member or administrator to be considered for the program. Students accepted into the 2021 Student Board program were notified in late June.

Since its inception, the Student Board has introduced more than 3,100 East Texas high school seniors to banking and money management.
