LindaleHighSchoolandChick-fil-Aarejoiningtogethertocreateaschool-wide volunteerday.OnApril7,LHSChick-fil-ALeadershipAcademystudentswillconductaservice projectthroughoutthecommunityofLindale.SeveralLHSclubs,organizations,andgroupswill beparticipatingtohelpgivebacktotheLindalecommunityinavarietyofways.
Somejobsincludecollectingtrash,paintingatPoolParkandthePoolParkbaseball fields,refurbishingflowerbedsatForestTrailsSeniorLivingandotherhomesofseniorcitizens, deliveringgoodiebagsandflowerstolocalnursinghomes,andplantingflowersatEJMossand CollegeStreetElementary.
“ItallbeganwhenChick-fil-A-LindaleOperator,Mr.JoshuaJohnsonreachedout, offeringtosponsorLindaleHighSchoolstudentsthroughtheChick-fil-ALeadershipAcademy,” saidLHSAssistantPrincipal,MelisaDukes.“Theacademytakesthestudentsalongaseven monthjourneytohelpdevelopstudentleaders.Ourstudentshavebeenapplyingtheirskills throughouttheyearbygivingbackthroughthe‘BigThankYou’project,‘DoGoodDecember’ project,andtheirfinal‘Impact’projectwhichisonApril7.”
StudentsandvolunteerswillmeetatPoolParkat8:30a.m.forthekick-offthisFriday
Allvolunteerprojectsareexpectedtobecompletedby11:30andvolunteerswillmeetbackat PoolParkforlunchprovidedbyChick-fil-A.
