Lindale High School Teacher Earns ILPC Edith Fox King Award

LINDALE HIGH SCHOOLJOURNALISM TEACHER EARNS

Neda Morrow, journalism teacher and newspaper, yearbook and broadcast adviser at Lindale High School is named a recipient of the Edith Fox KingAward by the Interscholastic League Press Conference. The award will be presented during the annual ILPC state convention, held inApril at the University of Texas atAustin.

The Interscholastic League Press Conference, an affiliate of the University Interscholastic League, is one of the nation’s largest state high school associations of student newspapers, broadcasts, yearbooks and online news programs.

"Morrow is a bright and passionate journalism adviser and UILcoach," said ILPC Director,Alyssa Boehringer. "She is more than deserving of this award, for her hard work with the students at Lindale and beyond."

Morrow received the award for her leadership in scholastic journalism, expertise in journalism and dedication to her students.

“The EFKAward is truly a special award because teachers are nominated by their colleagues,” said Marynell Bryant, retired journalism teacher. “Morrow has great rapport with her students which enables them to achieve goals to improve their journalistic skills. Because her journalism teams compete at a high level, more students want to be part of a winning program."

Morrow has taught journalism for 15 years and has been the adviser at Lindale High School for the past 10 years.
