L​INDALE​ ISD H​IRES​ N​EW​ E​LEMENTARY​ A​SSISTANT​ P​RINCIPAL

The Lindale Independent School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Stacie Rasco as the new assistant principal at Velma Penny Elementary. Rasco has been a teacher at Lindale ISD for the past 13 years. She spent 10 years in second grade, two years in third grade and one year in math intervention.

“I am excited to have Mrs. Rasco join our administrative team,” said Velma Penny Elementary Principal, Kaela Deslatte. “She has been an outstanding teacher in this district for a number of years and I have no doubt that she will continue to be an asset in this new role.”

Prior to Lindale ISD, Rasco was an assistant principal at Owens Elementary in Tyler.

“Mrs. Rasco has been an excellent teacher in our district for many years,” said Lindale ISD Superintendent, Stan Surratt. “She is a past administrator for Tyler ISD and we are excited about her joining the administrative team at Velma Penny Elementary. Mrs. Rasco has a passion to ensure that all students are successful. We look forward to watching Mrs. Rasco grow as an administrator in our district for many years.”

Rasco earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as an administrator in my hometown where I spent the majority of my teaching career,” said Rasco. “For 13 years, I have been blessed to work beside some of the best educators and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to serve this community in a greater capacity. It's an honor to be part of an amazing school district and continue the tradition of excellence in Lindale ISD.”

L​INDALE​ ISD H​IRES​ N​EW​ H​IGH​ S​CHOOL​ A​SSISTANT​ P​RINCIPAL

The Lindale Independent School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Melisa Dukes as the new assistant principal at Lindale High School.

“We are very excited to have Melisa joining our administrative team at Lindale High School,” said LHS Principal, Jeremy Chilek. “Melisa has been an exemplary teacher in our district for several years. Most recently, she has served as the testing coordinator at Lindale Junior High, as well as facilitating curriculum and instruction for that campus. She will be a fantastic addition to LHS.” Dukes has been employed with Lindale ISD for the last 7 years. She taught seventh grade mathematics for five years before transitioning into the testing coordinator at Lindale Junior High.

“Mrs. Dukes has been a master math teacher at our junior high campus for several years,” said Lindale ISD Superintendent, Stan Surratt. “With her level of knowledge in instruction, and her passion to help students, her moving to the assistant principal role is a natural. Mrs. Dukes has been exemplary in her performance as a teacher and as an instructional coach and we expect that she will continue to be very successful as a high school administrator.”

Dukes earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Tech University. Prior to Lindale ISD, Dukes was employed with Lubbock ISD at their Dunbar College Preparatory School where she taught math and coached girls athletics.

“I feel extremely fortunate and blessed to be joining an amazing high school family,” said Dukes. “I am so excited to continue to serve others.”

L​INDALE​ ISD H​IRES​ N​EW​ A​SSOCIATE​ C​URRICULUM​ D​IRECTOR

The Lindale Independent School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Macie Thompson as the new associate curriculum director of Lindale ISD. Thompson has served as the assistant principal at Lindale High School for the past three years. She started as a high school government and economics teacher before transitioning into an assistant principal for Weatherford ISD prior to Lindale.

“​We are very excited about Mrs. Thompson joining our Curriculum Leadership team,” said Lindale ISD Superintendent, Stan Surratt. “She has had great success as an administrator the past three years on the high school campus and we expect that she will continue to have great success in her new role. Mrs. Thompson is going to be an excellent leader in our district for many years.”

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Political Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

“It has been an honor and privilege to work with the students, teachers and administrators at Lindale High School for the past three years,” said Thompson. “I am excited for the opportunity to serve more of the community through my new role and continue the tradition of excellence in Lindale ISD.”
