FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT Lindale ISD students and staff had a phenomenal 2025–2026 school year! We are blessed with exceptionally bright and talented students, along with dedicated, skilled, and caring educators who work tirelessly to help our students succeed. This year is especially meaningful to me as I celebrate my 20th year serving as Superintendent of Lindale ISD. I could not be more proud of our Eagles and the incredible accomplishments of our students, teachers, coaches, and staff. Year after year, Lindale ISD continues to demonstrate what can happen when high expectations, hard work, and a strong community come together. Once again, Lindale ISD earned an “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency. This prestigious rating reflects the tremendous academic work taking place throughout our school district and places Lindale ISD among the select group of school districts in Texas achieving this level of academic success. Three years ago, Lindale ISD initiated our Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. Because of the excellence of our teachers and the outstanding performance of our students, 72% of Lindale ISD teachers have now earned a distinction from the Texas Education Agency. Teachers receive additional compensation based on the distinction they earn. Last year, our teachers earned more than $2 million in additional funds through this state program. This is an incredible accomplishment and a reflection of the outstanding educators we are fortunate to have serving our students. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our students and programs. Our UIL Academic teams swept the District Championships at every level from sixth grade through high school. Our UIL Academic team went on to finish as the State Runner-Up, while our Speech and Debate team captured the UIL State Championship, the 12th state championship in 3 school history.

Our Eagle Film and Fine Arts students also continued their tradition of excellence by winning their third consecutive UIL State Championship in Film and Theatre, marking the fifth state championship in school history. Our athletic programs continue to represent Lindale with tremendous pride and success. Lindale High School finished in the top 5% of schools in the Texas Lone Star Cup, recognizing the overall excellence of our students across academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities. The “Pride of Lindale” Band continues to achieve amazing things as well. Our Eagle Band finished as the State RunnerUp in UIL Military Marching. The band has now won five UIL State Championships in Military Marching and earned a First Division rating for an incredible 51st consecutive year. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of our students and directors. Another tremendous achievement this year is the Lone Star Ribbon Award. College Street Elementary will be recognized by Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Education Agency for its outstanding academic growth and excellence. Only a select number of campuses receive this prestigious recognition each year, and we are extremely proud that College Street Elementary is among them. These accomplishments are impressive, but what makes me most proud is the people behind them—our students, teachers, administrators, coaches, directors, support staff, parents, and community members. Their commitment to excellence is what makes Lindale ISD such a special place. Because of the phenomenal success of our students and staff, combined with the tremendous support of our community, more 4 and more families continue to choose Lindale as their home.

FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT Our enrollment now exceeds 4,600 students, and we anticipate reaching the 5,000-student mark within the next few years. Growth brings challenges, but it also provides exciting opportunities. As we look toward the future, Lindale ISD will continue to focus on providing our students with exceptional educational opportunities, outstanding extracurricular programs, safe and supportive schools, and the preparation they need to be successful in college, careers, and life. We truly are blessed in Lindale. We have incredibly bright and talented students, skilled and dedicated educators, supportive parents, and a community that believes in our schools and our children. We call this “The Lindale Way.” The Lindale Way means extremely high expectations for academics, character, discipline, and student success. The Board of Trustees is ultimately responsible for the stewardship of the District's assets. The budgeting process involves all stakeholders, administrators and the Board of Trustees. Budgeting is an on-going process that evolves and adjusts as new data becomes available throughout the budgeting cycle. The budgeting process begins in February and is completed in August with the Board Adoption of the Budgets and Tax Rates. Several Budget Workshops are held during Board of Trustees public meetings. - The budgeting process begins with a review and evaluation of the District strategic goals, new initiatives, and site based committees input. - Revenue projections are based on average daily attendance, student demographics, property values, and debt service requirements. - Each campus/department is given an allocation of budget funds based on their 1st semester average daily attendance, enrollment, student demographics, number of bus routes, and other allocation methods. - Campus/Department Heads prepare their budgets and submit for review and approval. - Personnel is the largest expense and is budgeted with any projected salary increases, as approved by the Board of Trustees, as well as new personnel. - Any new requests for additional staff, new programs, or one time expenditures are submitted and are then evaluated and ranked and later presented to the Board of Trustees who approve or disapprove the request based on need and funding. The County Appraisal District provides estimated Tax Values in April and final Values late July to the district. The district will then calculate the proposed, no new revenue, and voter approval tax rates. According to State law a Public Meeting to Discuss Budgets and Proposed Tax Rates Notice must be published in the newspaper 10 to 30 days before the date of the public hearing. State law requires the Board of Trustees to adopt the tax rates by September 29 or 60 days after certified values are received from the Appraisal District. Budgets must be adopted by August 31st. During the 2025-2026 school year, the district was able to pay cash from the Capital Projects Fund for roof replacement at multiple campuses. The Capital Projects Fund is a fund for facilities expenditures such as expansion to existing buildings for additional classrooms, replacement of flooring, and replacing of HVAC systems. It is also used for large capital assets such as school buses, technology servers, band uniforms, and playground equipment. The Capital Projects Fund eliminates the need for the district to issue additional bonds to fund these types of projects and assets. Because cash is used and not bond funds, the I&S tax rate does not need to be increased which saves taxpayers money. The total budgeted revenues for the 2025-2026 school year from all funding sources totaled $65.3 million and expenditures totaled $70.5 million.

STATE At 67 cents of every dollar, the State of Texas is LISD's largest funding source. The amount paid by the state depends on average daily attendance, student demographics and property values. Funding from the state does not fully cover educational costs.
LOCAL TAXES Local taxes are levied on a calendar-year basis and collected from local taxpayers. At 32 cents of every dollar, levies are critical to district funding.
FEDERAL Federal money accounts for about 1 cent of every dollar received and helps provide vital services in specific areas.

STATE RUNNER-UP The Lindale High School Pride of Lindale Eagle Band continued its tradition of excellence during the 2025–2026 school year, earning state medals, record-setting UIL ratings and top honors in marching, concert, solo, ensemble and twirling competitions.
The Pride of Lindale earned the silver medal at the 2025 UIL Conference 4A State Military Marching Band Championship, held at McLane Stadium on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. The honor marked the band’s sixth consecutive top-two finish and state medal at the UIL Military Marching Band Championship. The 222-member Pride of Lindale also earned the program’s 51st consecutive First Division rating at the UIL Region Marching Contest. The Wind Ensemble’s First Division ratings in both concert and sight-reading secured the program’s 28th consecutive UIL Sweepstakes Award and 48th Sweepstakes Award overall.
Lindale students continued their success during the ATSSB All-Region Band auditions, earning 55 chairs—the most of any participating school. 14 Lindale students advanced to the Area auditions, also the largest representation in the region, and two earned chairs in the prestigious ATSSB 4A All-State Band. At the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest, Lindale musicians earned more than 200 First Division medals, with nearly 100 students qualifying for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. At the state contest, 40 students earned First Division medals, including 18 students who received state ensemble medals. Lindale concluded the year with outstanding results in the Association of Texas Small School Bands Outstanding Performance Series. After dominating the region round, several Lindale recordings advanced through the competition to the state level. “These accomplishments by the Lindale High School Band are the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work and support from so many people,” Director of Bands Weston Fisher said. “We could not achieve this level of success without our amazing Band Boosters, the tremendous support of the Lindale ISD administration and our community, and the first-rate junior high and beginner band programs that prepare our students for success. Most importantly, we are blessed with exceptional students who work incredibly hard and represent Lindale with pride.”

Lindale finished with 667 points. The second place team, Canton, had 246 points. Each year, Lindale ISD dominates in UIL Academics. Lindale High School has won three UIL Academic State Championships out of the last five years.

Lindale ISD Celebrates Good Friday by Volunteering Lindale High School and Chick-fil-A teamed up to put together project SOAR, where students meet on Good Friday to volunteer throughout the Lindale community. More than 200 students and teachers showed up to do jobs that include collecting trash, painting, refurbishing flower beds, delivering goodie bags and flowers to local nursing homes, and more.

Grants for Great Ideas
The Lindale ISD Education Foundation awarded $49,212.09 to Lindale ISD teachers in 2025-2026. The money will be used to purchase new and innovative tools for classrooms. Funds provided by the Foundation will directly benefit students in the Lindale Independent School District and will make a positive difference for them.
Elected Officers
Grant applications are submitted to the foundation by LISD teachers and aides for projects or programs that go above the day-to-day curriculum and offer students an enriched and unique learning experience. Projects selected for funding are rated on a number of criteria including the innovation of the project. The teachers are notified that they are awarded their grants and receiving funds by a surprise Grant Patrol through school hallways. The Lindale High School band, donors, administrators and volunteers loudly parade through the campuses, giving away money for several innovative projects. The Education Foundation began awarding grants in November 2009. Since the first grant cycle, the Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 to LISD classrooms for hundreds of projects.
