Lindale ISD students and staff had a phenomenal 2024– 2025 school year. We are truly blessed with bright, gifted students and a team of dedicated, skilled educators.

LHS Band earns 51st consecutive 1st division rating at UIL Region 21 Marching Contest; 2025 4A UIL State Champion Marching Band

Lindale ISD has long been recognized for academic excellence, and this past school year was no exception. I am proud to report that every campus, as well as the district as a whole, earned an “A” Rating from the Texas Education Agency. In addition, Lindale ISD received a Superior Rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, further demonstrating our commitment to both academic and financial excellence.

The 2024–2025 school year was an awesome year for Lindale ISD as our Eagles brought home five UIL State Championships! In the fall, our Eagles won state titles in UIL Military Marching and Robotics. In the spring, they earned State Championships in Speech and Debate, UIL Film and Fine Arts, and Track. We are also incredibly proud of our district-wide success in UIL Academics. Our Eagles won District Championships at every level, 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, and High School, and by wide margins. The High School Academic Team eventually finished 3rd overall at the State Meet, and our Eagles finished 6th in the Lone Star Cup; Another remarkable achievement.

Thanks to our students’ success and the growing popularity of our community, Lindale ISD continues to experience rapid growth. We continue to be one of the fastest-growing school systems in East Texas. This year, we reached a new school record with 4,700 students enrolled.

FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT In response to this growth, the Lindale ISD School Board and administration have begun planning for future facility expansion. It is anticipated that Lindale ISD will call a Bond Election in the near future to meet the increasing demand for classrooms and school facilities. We are proud to say that our community has never failed to support a Bond Election, just another demonstration of the great support of the Lindale community.

Our success is a reflection of our entire community. We are grateful for our wonderful parents and community members who continue to support our students and schools. We are also blessed with an exceptional team of educators, administrators, and staff members who are deeply committed to our students. Lindale ISD thrives because of this powerful combination: Smart, gifted students, dedicated and skilled educators, and super supportive parents and community. This is the “Lindale Way” and we are proud of it!

The 2025-2026 school year looks to be another phenomenal year for our Eagles! In closing, I want to thank our parents and community members for their unyielding support. The Superintendent and the Board function as a "TEAM OF EIGHT." LINDALE ISD - FINANCIAL SUCCESS Michelle Carver, CPA, Chief Financial Officer

The Board of Trustees is ultimately responsible for the stewardship of the District's assets. The budgeting process involves all stakeholders, administrators and the Board of Trustees. Budgeting is an on-going process that evolves and adjusts as new data becomes available throughout the budgeting cycle. The budgeting process begins in February and is completed in August with the Board Adoption of the Budgets and Tax Rates. Several Budget Workshops are held during Board of Trustees public meetings.

- The budgeting process begins with a review and evaluation of the District strategic goals, new initiatives, and site based committees input.

- Revenue projections are based on average daily attendance, student demographics, property values, and debt service requirements.

- Each campus/department is given an allocation of budget funds based on their 1st semester average daily attendance, enrollment, student demographics, number of bus routes, and other allocation methods.

- Campus/Department Heads prepare their budgets and submit for review and approval.

- Personnel is the largest expense and is budgeted with any projected salary increases, as approved by the Board of Trustees, as well as new personnel.

- Any new requests for additional staff, new programs, or one time expenditures are submitted and are then evaluated and ranked and later presented to the Board of Trustees who approve or disapprove the request based on need and funding.

The County Appraisal District provides estimated Tax Values in April and final Values late July to the district. The district will then calculate the adopted, no new revenue, and voter approval rates.

According to State law a Public Meeting to Discuss Budgets and Proposed Tax Rates Notice must be published in the newspaper 10 to 30 days before the date of the public hearing. State law requires the Board of Trustees to adopt the tax rates by September 29 or 60 days after certified values are received from the Appraisal District. Budgets must be adopted by August 31st.

During the 2024-2025 school years, the district was able to pay cash from the Capital Projects Fund for outfield turf at the Lindale High School Baseball Field, new HVAC system at EJ Moss West, and seating and lighting improvements in the EJ Moss and Lindale High School auditoriums. The Capital Projects Fund is a fund for facilities expenditures such as expansion to existing buildings for additional classrooms, replacement of flooring, and replacing of HVAC systems. It is also used for large capital assets such as school buses, technology servers, band uniforms, and playground equipment. The Capital Projects Fund eliminates the need for the district to issue additional bonds to fund these types of projects and assets. Because cash is used and not bond funds, the I&S tax rate does not need to be increased. The total revenues for the 2024-2025 school year from all funding sources totaled $65.3 million and expenditures totaled $65.4 million.

STATE At 62 cents of every dollar, the State of Texas is LISD's largest funding source. The amount paid by the state depends on average daily attendance, student demographics and property values.

Funding from the state does not fully cover educational costs.

LOCAL TAXES Local taxes are levied on a calendar-year basis and collected from local taxpayers. At 37 cents of every dollar, levies are critical to district funding.

FEDERAL Federal money accounts for about 1 cent of every dollar received and helps provide vital services in specific areas.

Nearly 68% of the District's General Fund spending goes directly to the classroom and supports student learning

STATE MILITARY MARCHING BAND

CHAMPIONS

The Lindale High School "Pride of Lindale" Eagle Band earned its 5th consecutive state title after winning the 2024 Texas UIL 4A State Military Marching Band Championship! The UIL held the state competition at McLane Stadium on the Baylor University Campus in Waco, TX. "With the retirement of Mr. Moore, the band kept moving forward full steam ahead, marching directly towards their goal of a fifth state title," said new Director of Bands, Weston Fisher.

"They had a lot of talent for sure, but they also put in a lot of consistent hard work toward their goal!"

This is the 5th year that the UIL has held a separate Military and Open Style State Marching Band Championship. It is confirmed that the UIL State Military Marching Band Competition is out of the pilot program and is now a full fledged UIL State Competition. There are 235 41 students currently in the LHS Band.

The Lindale Band also received their 51st first division rating at marching contest last year, which is their 27th consecutive program sweepstakes, with the Lindale High School Wind Ensemble earning a 1st division at concert and sightreading evaluation. The band earned nearly 200 1st division medals at solo and ensemble last year, qualifying close to 100 students for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. At that contest, 48 students earned a 1st division medal and three students were awarded the coveted Outstanding Performer Medal for music UIL. These accolades and accomplishments can be found throughout the Lindale Eagle Band program. If that wasn't enough, the band entered the Outstanding Performances Series competition last year, sweeping the region level in all categories and advancing three songs from three different bands at the state level. We are proud to announce that one of our 42 junior high bands placed 1st at the state competition!

The Lindale ISD Education Foundation awarded $40,064.36 to Lindale ISD teachers in 2025. The money will be used to purchase new and innovative tools for classrooms. Funds provided by the Foundation will directly benefit students in the Lindale Independent School District and will make a positive difference for them.

Elected Officers

Grant applications are submitted to the foundation by LISD teachers and aides for projects or programs that go above the day-to-day curriculum and offer students an enriched and unique learning experience. Projects selected for funding are rated on a number of criteria including the innovation of the project.

The teachers are notified that they are awarded their grants and receiving funds by a surprise Grant Patrol through school hallways. The Lindale High School band, donors, administrators and volunteers loudly parade through the campuses, giving away money for several innovative projects.

The Education Foundation began awarding grants in November 2009. Since the first grant cycle, the Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 to LISD classrooms for hundreds of projects.

Lindale Education Foundation's ACT XIV- ALL-STAR TALENT

For the 14th consecutive year, the Lindale ISD Education Foundation was able to successfully host the annual Act's program in January of 2025. Act XIV: All-Star Talent presented by the Cooperative Teachers Credit Union raised more than $14,000. The Act's program is an annual stage performance at the LISD Performing Arts Center. Students from each of Lindale ISD's 6 campuses participate. The show includes student musical talent, prose speakers, fine arts performances, student vocalists, and soloists.

All proceeds from the fine arts ticketed showcase benefit the LISD Education Foundation.

Lindale Turkey Trot

PRESENTED BY CHRISTUS TRINITY MOTHER FRANCES Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health Systems presented the Lindale ISD Education Foundation with a $14,000 check. The funds were raised from the fourth annual Lindale Turkey Trot.

"The Lindale Turkey Trot is a perfect example of how great things happen with collaboration between our outstanding school district, city, race planners and volunteers, and Christus Health,” said CTMF Vice President, Mary Elizabeth Jackson. “It’s a first-place finish for our school and community health. We hope to have an even bigger impact next year and after."

More than 500 runners participated in the 5k run which was held on Thanksgiving morning. The funds raised will be going into Lindale ISD classrooms as part of the Education Foundation’s Grants for Great Ideas program.

"We started the Lindale Turkey Trot as a way to give back to the school district,” said Co-Race Director, Drew Smith. “We have kids here and this race allows us to pour into our district financially. Our sponsors, runners, and volunteers are what make the race possible."

The Grants for Great Ideas Program is designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches for the accomplishment of program objectives. Such initiatives will provide enrichment, research opportunities, training, intervention and prevention strategies and extend the educational effort. Funds provided by the Foundation will directly benefit students in the Lindale Independent School District and will make a positive difference for them. Donations remain in the school district and thus benefit the entire community through an investment in education and quality of life.
