All Suzuki Vitara’s are well equipped and have comprehensive levels of equipment. Even the entry level SZ4 has 7 air bags, dual sensor brake support, collision avoidance system, alloy wheels, DAB radio with USB and Blue Tooth connectivity, traffic line recognition, blind spot monitor, the list goes on. One important feature for me always is air conditioning.

If you pay more and go up to the SZT the wheels become slightly larger, there is a smart phone link and seat trims are modified, the top range has 17” alloy wheels, rather swish suede upholstery and a panoramic sunroof.

The Suzuki is an easy companion to drive, the 6-speed manual gearbox seemed to have a choice of ratios for all conditions and it is pleasing to note that even 5th and 6th could be utilised in and around town. The steering is nice and light which helps make squeezing in to that awkward parking space quite easy and without stress.

Internal space is reasonably good, it has 5 seats and there was plenty of space in and around those seats. Boot space was more than adequate and I do like the factor that there is plenty of leg and headroom and with the adjustment for the driver then it is possible for anyone to get themselves quite comfortable.

The only disappointment was the infotainment system, for some reason Suzuki have equipped the Vitara with a rather small size visual screen and in the day and age now, when we are used to bigger and better, I would have liked a larger screen, having said that all information was contained within, it was just a little difficult to read especially whilst on the move.

Suzuki as tested was priced at £23,249 on the road.
