TABLE MATS IN RECYCLED LEATHER
Our journey started back in 2013 with the introduction of our first and eventually most famous and widely used design; the curve-shaped table mat in recycled leather. Since then our collection has expanded over the years. Today our table mats are available in five leather textures and over 90 colours, all made from recycled leather. Choose from various types, such as glass, lunch, and dinner mats, which you can use as they are originally designed or customize according to your preferences in terms of colour, size, shape, and logo-embossing.

CORE LEATHER
The recycled leather, we use in our designs, originates from vegetable-tanned core leather sourced from surplus production in the furniture and fashion industry — such as leftover pieces of leather from the production of a sofa or shoe soles. The fact that the leather used is vegetable-tanned means, that only plant-based liquids have been used in the tanning process, which is a more sustainable method, that also enables the recycling of the leather.
GRANULATE
The vegetable-tanned core leather is granulated into tiny pieces, transforming it from a solid piece of leather into crumbs that feel soft and lightweight to the touch. This granulate is mixed with natural rubber from trees in a ratio of 80% core leather to 20% natural rubber, and then pressed to create recycled leather.
RECYCLED LEATHER
From core leather to granulate to recycled leather. This process has been carefully developed to create a unique material offering remarkable versatility, easy maintenance, and a lifetime of durability. Also, a material that, during the process, grants us the opportunity to explore boundless design possibilities in terms of colours and textures. Both water-based colours and textures are developed with a focus on creating an organic, natural expression and colour interplay, that stays true to the natural material.

The curve is unique to LIND DNA. The first time this organic shape was introduced was in our curve-shaped table mats. The idea back then was to create an innovative, decorative, and functional design for the table mat with the perfect dimensions to accommodate a plate, glass, and cutlery. The shape boasts timeless design with a contemporary feel, and its organic form complements all types of tables, whether round or rectangular, and everything in between. We put a lot of work into producing recycled leather mats designed to maintain their beauty year after year. Therefore, we have developed our cleaning collection for this purpose. Two cleaning products for two different needs, both ensuring that our recycled leather mats receive the best care and stay beautiful.
CARE GUIDE
Like most natural materials, our recycled leather needs some care and maintenance to ensure its long-lasting appeal year after year.
A few simple tips will help preserve the recycled leather natural beauty.
1. Clean the product with a damp cloth and LIND DNAs cleaning spray, Clean&Care. When a thorough in-depth cleaning is neccessary, then use LIND DNA’s Deep Cleaning Soap.
2. Do not put the products in the dishwasher and do not soak your products in water or soap.
3. Avoid staining from certain foods and liquids such as spices (e.g. paprika, saffron or curry), chili and red wine, as they may leave permanent stains, especially on lighter colours.
4. Avoid placing hot items such as pots and frying pans on the products.
5. Do not fold products in recycled leather.
6. We recommend that you always place your products on dry and plain surfaces. Be careful with oil-treated tables as excess oil might be absorbed by your recycled leather product.
7. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for longer periods of time.
DEEP CLEANING SOAP
Deep Cleaning Soap is developed for an in-depth cleaning of mats in recycled leather. Apply the soap with a sponge, wait a minute, and wipe with a damp cloth to remove stains and maintain the leather surface.
CLEAN & CARE
Clean & Care is developed as an everyday cleaning spray for mats in recycled leather. Spray and wipe with a dry cloth for a quick cleaning that removes new stains and leaves the surface clean.
