Parks & Recreation Board
The Park & Recreation Board reviews and recommends policies, fees, administrative and budgetary matters to the Village Board. The Park & Recreation Board meetings are held on the third Monday of each month in the Gerald C. Turry Village Board Room. Meetings begin promptly at 6:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend.

Memorial Day Ceremony

New Ceremony Location! Due to construction on Pratt Avenue, there will not be a Memorial Day Parade in 2026. The Memorial Day Ceremony to honor and remember our fallen heroes will take place at the Village Hall Promenade, which is the area between the Police Department and Village Hall. The ceremony will begin at 10am on Monday, May 25th. Please direct any questions to Julie Glowacki at jglowacki@lwd.org.

Eid al-Adha Celebration
Saturday, May 30
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, marks the end of the annual Hajj Pilgrimage in Mecca, symbolizing devotion and obedience to Allah. Eid alAdha celebrates the Prophet Abraham’s unwavering faith and obedience to God. Together, we will celebrate Eid al-Adha at the Lincolnwood Community Center, where we will enjoy refreshments, music, arts and crafts and Henna. If weather permits, an outdoor bounce-house will be available for the kids to enjoy! Early registration is required. Registration will close on May 25th. All ages welcome.

This exciting four-day festival returns to Proesel Park July 23-26 and is packed with something for everyone. This class uses age appropriate games and drills to promote motor skills and familiarity with a soccer ball. Learn to Play Hockey –Baby Bulldogs
Day: Sunday
Baby Bulldogs is a program aimed towards our young skaters between the ages of 2 to 4. Our goal is to get your skater to feel comfortable on the ice, so they can join our Little Bulldogs levels and pursue their skating with confidence. By the end of the program, your skater will be ready to step on the ice ready to learn with no resistance. Participants are required to bring their own hockey helmet and hockey gloves. No class: 7/5

Lil Strikers Soccer: Rookies

The Rookies Strikers program is the next step in the development for your young soccer player. The focus of classes is FUNdamentals that are crucial for every budding soccer player. Players focus on foot placement while shooting, following through on their shot, manipulating the ball in creative ways, defensive stance, and much more; all while participating in our fun games and adventure themed activities. Shin guards are optional; all equipment is provided.

Junior Flag Football Day: Tuesday
Come join in on the fun and start playing the nation’s most loved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking and defense. Each week ends with a scrimmage encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. Players always get to play either receiver or running back each week. Games focus on fundamentals and field concepts, as well as positions and mechanics. No equipment necessary!

The Adaptive Skating Program is designed to guide skaters with physical disabilities to develop skating skills. The program encourages skaters to begin and continue to develop skating skills progressively with the intention of maintaining recreational participation and competitive development. Skaters completing the Adaptive Skating curriculum may complete skills assisted or unassisted/ The tern “assisted” refers to the skater performing skills with the aid of another person. Glitzy Girls: Summer Neon Dance Glam Night
Day: Tuesday
Join Glitzy Girls for a night of summer fun with NEON! Glitzy Girl’s staff will be wrapping hair in a neon summer bandana, using fun neon makeup and neon nail polish for fun manicures! Kids will decorate a neon drawstring summer bag as well as design a fun beaded anklet with a summer charm. Class will end with dancing to neon lights and fun pop music. A cool neon backdrop and summer props will be in the room for some great pictures! Each participant will leave with a summer themed glam bag of goodies. *This is a drop-off class! Kids need to be able to be independent for the length of class.

Glitzy Girls: End of Summer Luau Glam Night

Join Glitzy Girls and head to Hawaii before the new school season starts back up! Glitzy Girl staff will be glamming up the kids with a hair flower, sparkle make-up and pretty nail polish complete with nail stickers. Kids will decorate a craft with paints, stencils and flower embellishments/jewels. Kids will also design a fun beaded bracelet with Hawaiian charms. Each participant will receive a take home outfit of a flower lei and a flowered Hawaiian skirt for photos at the palm tree backdrop with props. Class will end with maraca freeze dance and a game of limbo! *This is a drop-off class! Kids need to be able to be independent for the length of class.

Under the direction of Chicago Loves Dance, students will learn fun choreography to the newest pop/dance songs. Adult Cardio Sculpt Blast Day: Thursday
In this new and exciting high-energy class, participants will spend 50 minutes increasing their heart rate and working to increase muscle tone and strength using a variety of light, handheld weights, which will be supplied for participants to use during each class. Led by Veronica Kaldis, you will be led through a workout that will be combination of cardio work and strength work, targeting different muscle groups each week. Each class will be a little different than the previous week’s, keeping you on your toes and excited for Thursday evenings! This class is for ALL fitness levels. Please bring your own yoga mat to each class. This is not a drop-in class.

Enhance your tennis game with one-on-one training with a pickleball coach, where the instructor focuses solely on one student, tailoring the instruction to their specific needs and skill level, allowing for personalized attention and focused skill development, unlike a group lesson where the coach is divided among multiple players. Senior Fitness Drop-In Class with Barb
Day: Tuesday and Thursday
This senior fitness class is for those ages 55 and better! This class meets twice a week, each Tuesday and Thursday, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance while gently increasing your heart rate. No advanced registration is necessary; this is a drop-in class only; pay for each class at the door. Monthly class schedules are available at each class for everyone. No class: 6/11, 7/21, 7/23

Gentle peace yoga movements and gentle breathing techniques are practiced in this class, while seated comfortably in a chair. Tight muscles will start to relax, your breathing will slow down and regulate, all while you develop more flexibility and strength. Experience deep harmony and a rejuvenating flow of energy as you stretch and deep breathe in this seated 45-minute class.

Each BINGO card is $1 (please bring cash); play as many cards at one time as you wish. Lincolnwood Staff will call BINGO from 12:15-1:15 pm. Early registration is recommended.

Let’s celebrate our country’s independence with a Red, White and YOU party at the Lincolnwood Community Center! (Due to construction in Proesel Park this summer, the Pavillion/Shelter will not be available for use.) Lunch will be catered in from Portillo’s and we’ll enjoy live music and cold drinks. Feel free to sit back and enjoy the company of each other or get up and dance and have some fun! The outdoor patio will be open for you to enjoy and sit outside as well.

Moretti’s pizza has been voted the “Best Pizza” in the largest Chicago area diners’ poll so let’s see what it’s all about it! The Lincolnwood Senior group will meet at Moretti’s in Morton Grove for a pizza party luncheon. A variety of pizzas will be ordered, come with an appetite! A noon reservation will be made. Drive yourself, we’ll all meet there!

Drury Lane: Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story Day: Thursday
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story chronicles the life and music of rock and roll pioneer Buddy Holly from his early start in Texas to his meteoric rise to fame and untimely death at the age of 22. Experience the original sound that changed rock and roll music as we know it. The group will meet at the Lincolnwood Community Center at noon. We’ll board the bus and head out to Drury Lane for a 1:30 pm show. Feel free to bring a snack for the bus ride! The show begins at 1:30pm with a run time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Estimated return time is 5 pm.

Botanic Garden and Lunch
Day: Wednesday
June will be the perfect time to head out to Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe to enjoy this 385-acre living plant museum. Roam the gardens at your leisure, enjoy a public Tram Tour, pop into the Model Railroad Garden or visit the Butterflies and Blooms exhibition- the time at the Garden is yours to enjoy. There is a cafe inside the visiting center, if you want a snack or refreshment. After our visit in the Garden, we’ll meet on the bus and head to PF Chang’s for lunch. The group will meet at the Lincolnwood Community Center at 10am. We'll enjoy the gardens from 10:30-12:45pm. At 12:45pm, we’ll board the bus and head to PF Chang’s for lunch, where you can order from their lunch menu. After lunch, we’ll head back to Lincolnwood. The cost of this registration covers the bus, admission into the Garden and lunch.

Milwaukee Boat Tour
Day: Wednesday
Let’s make the most of a warm summer day and head to Milwaukee for a 90-minute boat tour! We’ll explore Milwaukee’s past and present from rivers, harbors and Lake Michigan in this 90- minute tour. Unforgettable views and a unique perspective of Milwaukee’s history and architecture. Live narration will be provided by experienced and entertaining tour guides and the captain. The group will meet at the Lincolnwood Community Center at 10am. This bus ride is about an hour and fifteen minutes (each way). We’ll board the boat at 11:30am for a noon boat tour. The tour will go from 12-1:30 pm. Once we finish the boat tour, we’ll board the bus and head back to Lincolnwood. Please pack a lunch, snacks and water. The boat will have snacks, soft drinks, beer and cocktails for you to purchase-CASH ONLY. Lincolnwood staff will provide a snack and water bottle on the bus. Some of the boat’s seating is in the sun, while some have shade. Seating is first come-first serve. It’s recommended to bring an umbrella in case of rain or if you want some shade from the sun. Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen. Registration fee covers the bus ride and the boat ticket.

You can register for programs at lincolnwoodil.org — it’s fast and easy! Simply enter your username, password, and follow the user-friendly directions. Not sure of your login information? Contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (847) 677-9740. We accept payments online using a Visa or MasterCard.
WALK-IN REGISTRATION
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5p.m. Cash, check, or credit card accepted (Visa or MasterCard).
MAIL-IN REGISTRATION
Mail to: Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Dept., 6900 N. Lincoln Ave., Lincolnwood, IL 60712. Checks and credit cards preferred. Make checks payable to the “Village of Lincolnwood.”

AFTER-HOURS DROP OFF REGISTRATION
Place your completed registration form in a sealed envelope in the 24-hour brown drop box located in the front of the Municipal Complex in the circular drive. Checks and credit cards only. Make checks payable to the Village of Lincolnwood.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Registration forms are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register for a class you must complete a registration form including participant name and program name. One family per registration form. All classes have minimums and maximums. Sign up a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the class to avoid class cancellations.
REFUND POLICIES
The Lincolnwood Parks & Recreation Department is committed to providing high quality recreation programs and services. We want everyone to be satisfied with their recreation experiences. If you are not completely satisfied with our programs or services, please contact us as soon as possible.
GENERAL REFUNDS
General refunds will be granted when requested five full working days before the start of a program. All refunds are subject to a 10% administrative fee and will be mailed in the form of a check within 4-6 weeks of your request.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE A PROGRAM STARTS?
We understand that there may be a time when the program you registered for didn’t match your needs. If that is the case, we encourage you to share your feedback, ideas and suggestions for improvement as soon as possible. If we are unable to work through it together, we will refund you for all the classes not attended less a 10% administrative fee.
IN THE CASE OF ILLNESS, EMERGENCY, OR RELOCATION
Should you need to discontinue the program due to an illness, emergency, or relocation, we ask that you submit proof of relocation or a written medical explanation from a physician. Upon receipt, we will refund for all the classes not attended less a 10% administrative fee.
DEPARTMENT CANCELLATION
In the event a program does not meet minimum registration, the class may be canceled with full refunds issued.
BROCHURE ERRORS
Due the large amount of information included in each season brochure, errors may occur. There may be last minute changes in days and times of classes, registration requirements, and fees once the brochure has gone to print. You will be advised in a timely manner of any changes. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
PHOTO POLICY & VIDEO
Photographs and videos are periodically taken of participants while they are engaging in programs, special events, or enjoying the parks. Please be aware that these photos and videos may appear in local newspapers, Village publications, cable access program or on the Village website.
MAINE-NILES ASSOCIATION OF SPECIAL RECREATION (M-NASR)
Since 1972, M-NASR has provided and facilitated recreation programs and services for children, teens and adults with disabilities.
We are an extension of the park districts in Des Plaines, Golf-Maine, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge, Skokie, and Lincolnwood’s Parks and Recreation Department.
M-NASR offers a wide range of recreation programming, both in person and virtual. Programs include athletics, adaptive sports, camps, cultural arts, social opportunities, special events and much more. M-NASR’s full time recreation staff have therapeutic recreation backgrounds and all programs are designed with the cognitive, psychological, social and physical needs of participants in mind.
M-NASR programs are offered throughout our member districts. M-NASR participants may register for all programs regardless of location and transportation is available to select programs.
