Mi Mexico Lindo: An Ode To Mexico
Arianna Valencia.12 Mi Mexico Lindo: An Ode To Mexico
The long bruting car ride, full of loud music and “Did I miss the exit?” and “ Dad I have to pee” From the cracked desert ground and towering cacti, to the winding mountain roads Watching the sun set and rise as we drive Those final hours that seem to go slower the closer we get

To the moment were finally in her arms with fresh pan dulce and tea The feeling of home, family vacations, and nostalgia all wrapped up in this concrete box we call home The brick roads we walk day and night
The delicious meals we eat around the table each night, the sound of laughter fills the air Our family reunions filled with drunken karaoke, reminiscing, and love
I long for the nights where the silent whisper of the mountains cradle me to sleep Where all you can hear is the hum of the sheep, where the sky is lit up by the constellations
Mi Mexico lindo, you’re full of all the energy and beautiful things that I call home I wait for you each night, your memories fill my dreamscape, until I’m in your arms once more I’ll wait patiently for july
