Joe Pera is a standup comedian, writer and filmmaker from Buffalo, NY. Joe is best known for his current Adult Swim series, Joe Pera Talks With You, which The LA Times refers to as "TV’s quietest, most artful comedy." He has performed his subdued standup on Conan, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Comedy Central. After his animated special Joe Pera Talks You To Sleep (which many have found to work), he followed up with other projects for Adult Swim including Joe Pera Helps You Find the Perfect Christmas Tree and Relaxing Old Footage with Joe Pera

One of Europe’s most distinctive choreographers, Hervé Koubi will make his Fort Collins debut with What the Day Owes to the Night. This highly physical, stunningly fluid performance features an all-male troupe of urban street performers from Algeria, Morocco and the Mediterranean basin. Combining powerful imagery with urban and contemporary dance, martial arts, acrobatics and riurban, this show is a cultural experience not to be missed!

BUSH-MARSHALLMEYER-MEYER

Father of the American newgrass music scene Sam Bush (mandolin/violin) joins music icons Mike Marshall (mandolin) and Edgar Meyer (bass) together with George Meyer (violin) for a special collaboration usually only heard on a late summer night on the bluegrass festival circuit.

Expect to hear works from the 1999 genre-bending album Short Trip Home as well as new music written specifically for this tour. Bluegrass, newgrass and classical all meet in a stunning show of Americana that will leave you wishing for more.

GREENWOOD: A CENTURY OF RESILIENCE

with Alicia Odewale, African Diaspora Archaeologist

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, archaeologist Alicia Odewale is uncovering stories of resilience in the hundred years since the attack on Black Wall Street in the city’s historic Greenwood District. Considered one of the worst episodes of racial violence committed against Black people in American history, the Tulsa Race Massacre left a devastating toll on generations of survivors and their descendants, and impacted the very footprint of the district itself. Join her to discover how archaeology and radical mapping can be used as a tool for recovering lost stories, reclaiming a narrative and pursuing restorative justice.

MINGUS BIG BAND

The Mingus Big Band celebrates the music of the late, great composer/bassist Charles Mingus. This 14-piece band tours extensively in the United States and abroad, and has ten recordings to its credit, seven of which have been nominated for GRAMMYs. The band won a GRAMMY in 2011 for “Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album” with their recording Mingus Big Band Live at Jazz Standard.

Inspired by the beloved films, the romantic and adventure-filled new musical Anastasia is on a journey to Fort Collins at last!

From the Tony Award®–winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, this dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past.

Anastasia features a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new score by Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) based on original direction by Tony Award® winner Darko Tresnjak with choreography by Peggy Hickey and tour direction by Sarah Hartmann.

AJIJAAK ON TURTLE ISLAND

Ajijaak, a young whooping crane, makes her first migration on her own from Wood Buffalo, Canada, down to the Gulf Coast. Along the way, she finds her voice and a family through the interconnectedness of all of creation. She encounters deer, buffalo, coyote and turtles as well as communities of people from Ojibwe, Ho-Chunk, Lakota and Cherokee Nations living in balance with their environments.
