TURNING 15 ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM

This new musical, filled with Gospel and Freedom songs, tells the moving and inspiring true story of Lynda Blackmon Lowery, the youngest person to walk all the way from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama on the Voting Rights March in 1965. Jailed nine times before her 15th birthday, Lynda and her friends and neighbors fought alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and John Lewis to secure the right to vote for African Americans.

Recommended for ages 10 and up. This show contains video of actual events and stylized dramatizations of the U.S. Civil Rights period.
