A significant transaction via both auction and private treaty from Prestwould Parke has formed the nucleus of the Blue Ridge Farms foundation breeding herd. All Hewat Family members are great cattle enthusiasts and their background and interests lie within agriculture, animal science and livestock production. After carefully following the Speckle Park breed for some time, the Hewats were active in selecting females in The Driving Force Sale. Later, through private treaty, they selected a sizable group of young females. With the addition of the promising young sire, Greenwood Houston 20H, they have assembled one of the most progressive breeding entities in North America.
