Travel is more than a travel company. To be Limitless is a mindset; it means to push yourself to experience things you wouldn't think it was possible to achieve. We support people to see, achieve and experience the wonders that the world has to offer. From North Wales to the other side of the globe, we want everyone to be able to pursue their aspirations through travel."

Angus Drummond, CEO & Founder

Angus Drummond, the founder of Limitless Travel, was 22-years-old and working as an investment banker when he was diagnosed with a muscle weakening condition called Muscular Dystrophy. As part of the diagnosis, Angus was told that his mobility would decline over time and that one day he would be confined to a wheelchair.

This came as a devastating shock and Angus knew that his life would never be the same. Shortly after his diagnosis, Angus spontaneously quit his job, donned his backpack and decided to travel the world to experience as many of its wonders as possible before travelling became too difficult. Angus and his wife explored over 35 countries, canoeing the coast of Vietnam and even climbing Machu Picchu along the way.

Throughout the journey, Angus’ mobility began to decline and certain aspects of travel became more challenging. Yet it was through travel that he learned about different cultures, tried new foods, made lifelong relationships and adopted an increasingly positive outlook on life. Recognising that travel and its benefits should not be exclusive to the able-bodied, he decided that he needed to do something that would enable the wider disabled community to travel without limitations. So, from Angus’ first-hand experience of travelling the world with a disability, Limitless Travel was born.

Since then, Limitless has flourished into a specialist holiday provider for people with a wide range of mobility restrictions and disabilities. The Limitless Travel team is made up of people who have disabilities themselves, as well as specialists in the care industry and disability experts. This ensures that our travellers know their needs aren’t just listened to, they’re also understood.

How Our Care Package Personalisation Works

Every Limitless traveller benefits from a personalised care package. How does that work in practice? Well, we start by giving you a call and discussing your specific needs. This allows us to establish which of our care packages is best suited to your particular circumstances. Then, we tailor your package to reflect the way you want to enjoy your holiday.

At Limitless, we recognise that all of our travellers are different and have distinct needs and preferences. Some people like to dress themselves, while others prefer a little help. Some want help showering and some are happy to do it alone. Often, travellers are more than capable of performing certain tasks but lack confidence when attempting others. It’s different for everyone.

By personalising your care package, we’re able to create a detailed support plan that works for you. There are no extra charges for personalisation, it’s just a part of the Limitless service. Group Support & Holiday Assistance

Included as standard with all Limitless Travel holidays, and is what sets us apart from every other UK holiday provider. This level of support is suitable for those who do not require physical support, but may need a helping hand to make the most of their holiday experience. This assistance is provided in a group setting, therefore you must be able to support yourself if you intend to leave the group at any point.

Our One-to-One Care package is our most comprehensive level of care, and is entirely tailored to meet your personal care needs. You will have a carer supporting you throughout the day on your holiday. If you’re wanting to explore on your own, away from the group, then our one-toone care package ensures that you will have the support you need to do so confidently.

This package is suitable for those who do not require personal care assistance, but who would benefit from the support of a qualified carer on a one-to-one basis throughout their holiday.

We know that airports can seem like a maze, but with Limitless we want to make your whole experience as stress-free as possible.

If you’re travelling independently from your local airport, simply head to the airport check-in staff who will be able to point you in the right direction for special assistance. If you are travelling with the Limitless care team this is also where we will meet you to begin your holiday.

Please be sure to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check-in and get through security. We recommend arriving at least 3 hours prior to departure so there’s plenty of time to settle in, and perhaps even enjoy a spot of shopping before boarding your flight!

About This Holiday: On your unforgettable Costa Rican holiday,

you’ll stay in fully accessible hotels in the country’s capital, Arenal Volcano Park and on the North Pacific coast. You’ll sample Costa Rica’s worldfamous coffee and see how it’s grown, go jaguar-spotting on an accessible wildlife tour and sun yourself on beautiful beaches. Cookery classes, fascinating museums and the country’s famous hot springs also await you.

During your Costa Rican holiday, you’ll stay in several fully accessible hotels in San José, Arenal Volcano National Park and on the country’s Pacific North Coast. All of your accommodation has been fully vetted to ensure it’s suitable for disabled travellers. Though all of the hotels we stay in are of the highest quality, the Arenal Volcano accommodation is particularly special and features accessible hot springs that make for a truly unique holiday experience.

Day 1: The Limitless Team will be waiting at Gatwick Airport to give you a warm welcome and get your holiday off to the perfect start. You’ll be flying with the Limitless Team and your fellow holidaymakers to San José, Costa Rica’s capital city.

Day 2: Now that you’re settled and rested, it’s time for the first excursion of the holiday. We’ll be heading to a coffee plantation to discover exactly what goes into producing a cup of the good stuff! We’ll then stop for lunch at a vibrant market in central San José, before a private guided tour of the City, visiting one of the country’s most important museums along the way.

Day 3: We’ll be leaving our first hotel and heading to Arenal. On the way, we’ll stop at Sarchi, a quaint town known across Costa Rica for its artisans’ elaborately painted ox carts. Then it’s time to settle into your new accommodation, which is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Relax by the hotel’s accessible hot spring pools.

Day 4: Explore Arenal Volcano National Park with a guided tour along a fully accessible trail, passing spectacular lava flows, lush forest fields, raucous howler monkeys and multicoloured parrots as you go. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a Costa Rican cookery class.

Day 5: Following a hearty breakfast, you’ll spread your wings and fly through the forest canopy on a fully accessible zip-line experience. In the afternoon we’ll make our way to Guanacaste and check into our next hotel which is by the beach.

Day 6: Make the most of the hotel facilities and explore the beautiful surrounding area at your own pace.

Day 7: Beach day! Take it easy and enjoy the fantastic Central American climate on an accessible local beach with amphibious wheelchairs available.

Day 8: SToday we will visit the local city of Liberia, known as the white city as many of its buildings were painted white. There will be a chance to explore and do some souvenir shopping.

Day 9: Today we head back to San José. In the evening we’ll enjoy an authentic local meal in an accessible restaurant. This is a night to enjoy the company of your fellow travellers, reminisce over your holiday experiences and make the most of your final moments in Central America!

Day 10: Enjoy a final day of souvenir shopping and take it easy by enjoying the impressive facilities of the hotel.

Day 11: Today we bid a fond farewell to Costa Rica. We will make our way back to the airport and journey home.

Booking Details

At the Airport

If you are travelling on our European Beach Tour, you must check in at least 2-3 hours before your flight is scheduled to take off in accordance with your itinerary. If you fail to check in on time, the airline is entitled to refuse you boarding access onto the flight. We cannot accept responsibility if such situations arise, and while we will endeavour to assist in making alternative travel arrangements to get you to your destination, or to your home, any costs or loss incurred as a result will be your responsibility.

Arrival & Transfers

After passing through customs at the airport, you will be met by our transfer providers. They will show you to your taxi and take you to your chosen accommodation. You will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation on arrival and from your accommodation back to the airport on your departure.

Luggage

If you are vacating your accommodation after check out and have to wait for your departure from resort, your luggage remains your responsibility during this time. Whilst our representatives may be able to suggest where luggage can be stored, this will be entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any luggage left unattended.

Our representatives include our Tour Managers and Care Team, and are carefully selected to offer you advice and care. You will be given a contact telephone number for our representatives.

Flying with a Disability

Please note that most airlines will only allow independent passengers to fly unaccompanied. It is generally the

rule that anyone who cannot reach an emergency exit on an aircraft must be accompanied by someone who is able to assist them to an emergency exit. If you require assistance while flying, please talk to one of our specialist advisors to arrange flight support.

Availability in Resort and Accommodation Facilities

In some resorts and hotels, certain advertised facilities may not be available or fully operational in the early and late part of the season, due to the number of participating holidaymakers and weather conditions. Also airconditioning and heating, where mentioned, may be available only at certain times of the day or year at the hotelier’s discretion and at an additional cost. Such situations are regrettably beyond our control.

Breakages and Deposits

You will be expected to pay for any damage or breakages caused to your accommodation. This must be paid before you leave the resort. Property management reserve the right to evict you from the accommodation where deliberate damage/breakage has been caused. We will not accept any responsibility for your actions in such cases.

Swimming Pools

Most hotels do not employ a lifeguard. Please ensure that children and nonswimmers are supervised at all times and observe the pool rules at your accommodation. If you wish to use the pool hoists, ramps, or any other access equipment, please ensure you do so in a safe and considerate manner. If access equipment is damaged, an amount may be payable directly to the hotel to cover the cost of repair. If you wish to dive please check that the water is deep enough and that the property allows diving. You should exercise caution around pool areas since pool surrounds are often slippery when wet and you should not enter the pool after drinking alcohol. Please note that swimming pools may be temporarily withdrawn for maintenance purposes.

Fire Safety

Please read carefully all safety information which is available in your hotel or apartment. On arrival, always familiarise yourselves with the nearest fire exits in your room or apartment.

Standards and Safety of Beaches

Swimming outside of designated beaches is very dangerous. We recommend that you swim on main beaches and avoid remote rocky coastlines. Familiarise yourself with the Local flag warning systems and seek local advice on which beaches are the safest. Check whether the beach has lifeguards and swim parallel to the shore within your depth. Children should be supervised at all times and there should be no swimming at night. You should also be aware of any “zones” for jet skis and power boats and stay well away. Any access equipment on the beach is used at your own risk, and you should carefully consider your health and mobility before use.

Alcohol

Whilst many enjoy indulging during holidays, there are times when alcohol is best avoided. Soft drinks are widely available in resorts, and bottled water is recommended when abroad. Alcohol consumption should be avoided before swimming and during sunbathing, as it causes dehydration. Drunken behaviour in accommodation and on-board aircraft can result in you being asked to leave the accommodation or the aircraft accordingly. We cannot accept responsibility if such situations arise, and while we will endeavour to assist in making alternative travel arrangements to get you to your destination, or to your home, any costs or loss incurred as a result will be your responsibility.

Travel and Health Advice

Before travelling overseas, check out the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website at www.fco.gov.uk/ knowbeforeyougo; it is packed with essential travel advise and tips, and up-to-date country information. Useful health advice and information can be found on the Department of Health’s website at www.dh.gov.uk/travellers. The Department of Health also produce a leaflet entitled “Advice on Health for Travellers”. Please speak to your GP or Practice Nurse if you have any queries regarding your health and travel arrangements.

EHIC

You should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) prior to travel. These cards entitle all UK residents to reduced cost (sometimes free) health care, if necessary, whilst travelling in most European countries. The quickest way to get an EHIC or GHIC is to apply online at https:// www.ghic.org.uk/. Alternatively, customers can call the EHIC Application Line on 0845 606 2030 or

pick up an application pack from local Post Offices. It can take up to 21 days for these cards to arrive if applied for by post. Please remember that these cards are an addition to travel insurance and should not be relied upon instead of travel insurance. Some insurance policies may be deemed invalid without one of these cards, and you should check with your insurance provider before travelling.

Vaccine Guidance

We recommend that all guests have had at least their first COVID vaccine before coming onto our tours. However, if you are medically exempt, or do not wish to have the vaccine, this is not mandatory.

Testing Guidance

If guests have not received a vaccine prior to joining one of our tours, we will require them to provide a negative COVID test result within 48 hours of departure, and proof of this test result will need to be presented to the Limitless Travel Support Team at the chosen airport.

If you experience any COVID symptoms in the week leading up to your tour, whether you have had the vaccine or not, you must ensure that you also get a COVID test prior to departure for the safety of all guests on the tour.

On-Tour Teams

It will be a requirement that all members of the on-tour Limitless Travel team have received at least one COVID vaccination prior to departure, and they will also be required to provide us with a negative COVID test result at least 48 hours before joining your holiday.

Inability to Travel

If you are presenting any symptoms of COVID-19 prior to your tour, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19

within 14 days of travel, in line with government advice you must remain at home and should not travel.

Please advise us on 0800 711 7232 or email support@limitlesstravel.org if this is the case. Evidence will be required to prove that you are selfisolating due to COVID-19. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you will be required to show a negative test result prior to attending the tour before we can finalise your place on the tour.

If you are unable to travel or provide a negative result within a week of the tour departing, you are entitled to transfer any payments made towards your holiday free of charge as travel credits onto an alternative date (please be aware any increase in the holiday price will be applicable). If you choose to cancel your holiday your cancellation will be subject to our standard booking terms and conditions, and travel credits cannot be redeemed as a cash refund.

Carriage of Infants

Infants must be over 6 weeks old to travel by air and must be under 2 years old on the date of return to qualify as an infant. Charges for the carriage of infants vary from airline to airline and relevant charges will be advised at the time of booking. Cots and baby food are available in most resorts, but must be paid for locally.

Meals

Please bear in mind that guests with special dietary needs (for example, vegetarians, vegans and different cultures) may not find the same variety or options available that they are accustomed to. Travellers must ensure that they let Limitless Travel know about any dietary requirements prior to departure.
