CHINESE HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE, GERAINT CALLS FOR ACTION FROM GOV Speaking in the House of Commons, Geraint Davies said, “Given that the evidence of industrial-scale human rights abuse, including mass rape, torture and cultural genocide, is incontrovertible and known to the Chinese Government and the Chinese President, will the Government now give the UK courts the power to judge genocide; instruct our industries to ensure that we

WALES CONTINUE TO LEAD VACCINATION ROLLOUT Geraint Davies has this month praised the efforts of the Welsh Labour Government on the rollout of the Coronavirus vaccination. Wales continues to lead the UK on percentage of adults that have received a vaccination, with a third of all adults having received their first jab. Geraint Davies said “I welcome the cautious approach the Welsh Government have taken on the reopening of schools and priase the tremendous efforts of all those involved with getting jabs into peoples arms to protect them from the virus.”
SO-CALLED ‘VOICE OF WALES’ IS NOT WELCOME IN SWANSEA Geraint Davies MP this month called out neoNazi YouTube group ‘Voice of Wales’ who have targeted Swansea female Councillors and spread hatred against migrants in West Wales, “Swansea is a community of communities and a City of Sanctuary and it’s important that we work side by side together coming out of the pandemic. There’s no place for people to spread hatred and division and to promote the voice of prejudice including Nazi groups from the US on line. The last time we saw the Nazis in Swansea was when the Luftwaffe were bombing us so this sort of political hate virus has no place in Wales and needs locking down in case it spreads to vulnerable people suffering from the pandemic recession .”
ENVIRONMENT BILL MUST INCLUDE LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE AIR POLLUTION LIMITS Speaking on the publication of Parliament’s Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee (EFRA) report on air quality, Geraint Davies MP Chair of All Party Group on Air Quality said “The report adds welcome pressure on the Government to amend the Environment Bill to adopt legally enforceable WHO air pollution limits with a duty on all Government departments to work together to deliver them. It underlines the Coroner’s conclusion that air pollution was a cause of death for Ella Kissi Debrah when WHO air quality limits were breached. This will add weight to the Coroner’s forthcoming Prevention of Future Death Report expected before Lords amendments in favour of immediately enforceable WHO air quality limits. Newly elected Tory MPs will be under growing pressure to put local children’s lives before the Tory whip. As we approach COP26 this is a Government opportunity to show global leadership at a time that air pollution kills 7 million people every year” “The EFRA report highlights that the poorest and most diverse communities are also those suffering the highest health problems from air pollution which helps to explain why Coronavirus death and infection rates are higher in these communities. This underlines the urgent need to bring in universal and enforced WHO air quality limits which will bring the biggest benefit in lives saved and lengthened by reducing exposure to toxic air”
FISHING ISSUES POST-BREXIT RAISED “Did the Secretary of State know, when the Prime Minister dumped his half-empty EU deal on us on Christmas eve, that it might mean export bans for fishermen from south Wales fishing in the Welsh sea for cockles, mussels Toggle showing location of Column 46and oysters? If he did, why did he not make arrangements for those products to be sold for British consumers, and in particular those in food need? Will he make such arrangements so that those fishermen can face a sustainable livelihood and not possible bankruptcy?” CONTACT ME / CYSYLLTU A MI (01792) 4759432 32 Walter Road, Swansea, SA1 5NW
