Malika Favre was born in Paris. She moved to the United Kingdom to pursue illustration at the Surrey institute of Art and Design in Farnham, UK. After graduating she started working for Airside in 2006. In 2011, Airside closed and she began her career as a freelance designer. As an independent designer she inccorporates her Pop and Op art style into her work.

While working as an intern for Airside Favre focused on creating funny, quirky, and colorful illustrations while learning how to create animation. In 2006 she became the Art Director at Airside. Four years later, she became a freelance illustrator. As an independent illustrator she was recruited by various magazines and companies to create illustrations.

Favre chooses her colors by looking for red, yellow, and blues basing her colors on the color prism. Artists can always create depth with any form of color and it is not necessary to have too many colors. She explains even if you do not know the theory of color it is about looking at the colors and finding shadows and light to create depth. Lastly, Favre tries to keep the colors pure (100% color) giving her work that Pop art appearance.
Favre took on the Warby Parker project as most of her work focuses on brand and editorial design. The project gave her the space to create pop art for the Warby Parker shop in Miami, portraying a woman wearing sunglasses in the jungle. This is an accurate representation of the store, as they sell glasses. Warby Parker is known to collaborate with artists and designers to create art for unique limited editions of eyewear. This piece gave the product a fresh artistic appeal, drawing customers to the “La Jungle” eyewear collection.

After living in London for fourteen years she moved to Barcelona. Today she continues her work in Barcelona as an independent illustrator. Being an independent artist allows her to work from home. Favre has her online website giving her more freedom to share her work with a widespread audience.
