Invest in a good bed. You spend a lot of time here. Make sure that it fits your body and provides the support and comfort that you need to get a good night’s sleep so you can awake feeling relaxed and energized.

Scent also contributes to your emotional state.

Give your bedroom a fresh smell; no harsh perfumes or incense that linger in the air. Keep it clean and light—lavender, linen and rose are relaxing scents that aren’t too heavy.

If your bedroom has a lot going on now, simplify. Declutter, clean and put away items.

Minimize furniture and accessories.

Laptops, televisions and phones are things we may look to when there is downtime and we are getting ready for bed. You start scrolling through and then realize two hours later that you are still no closer to being relaxed than you were when you started. Keep these items to a minimum in the bedroom. They tend to stimulate your mind and thus are counterproductive to you being able to relax.

Most bedrooms should error on the side of being more masculine than feminine. By this, I mean don’t go over the top with lace, frilly layers of bedding, shams and pillows. By keeping things simple, clean, smelling good and low-key, you will be relaxing in no time.

IT WAS DECEMBER OF 2008 when the clubhouse at The Idaho Club burned to the ground in a devastating fire, extinguishing all the hopes and dreams of so many. Since that time, the club has gone through some highs and lows, but now it promises to be better than ever.

Earlier this year, The Idaho Club, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, was sold to Valiant Idaho LLC, and the plans to rebuild a new clubhouse complete with a year-round restaurant are well underway. While they will utilize the same footprint to rebuild the clubhouse, the new structure will be far different from the previous one.

According to Curtis, they will break ground on the new clubhouse in the spring of 2018 and are hoping to have it fully operational by Christmas of that same year.

Now a semi-private club, there are both golf and social memberships available. And in what used to be an initiation fee of $50,000, it is now only a one-time fee of $3,500 to join plus monthly dues.

Curtis and LaGrace are excited about the new energy that is part of The Idaho Club and said interest in purchasing real estate at this scenic location has escalated considerably over the last 60 days.

“The confidence is back, and owners are doing a lot to make this happen,” said LaGrace.

With 80 lots for sale, Curtis and LaGrace have sold five lots and currently have four under contract in the past 60 days.

The attraction is not just in the golf or the beautiful surroundings; people also are drawn to The Idaho Club because of the fact it is a gated community that offers an abundance of various price points. “And we have Lake Pend Oreille and Schweitzer all in one place,” said Curtis.

On Moose Mountain, there will eventually be a place where they can host weddings offering stunning views and larger lots up to 5 acres in size.

Interest in home sites has been primarily from people out of town seeking a second home, but locals are looking to move out to The Idaho Club as well.

“It’s really the best of all worlds—it is rural, yet only 9 miles from town, you have the scenic mountains and the safety of a gated community,” said LaGrace. And of course there is the wildlife—eagles, moose and more.
