LIGMAN TRAINING OCCUPANCY SENSORS

1

INTRODUCTION • Occupancy sensors are devices that detect movement and activate the luminaire • PIR (passive infrared) sensors have lenses which allow the beam to be focussed, ideal for outdoor usage • Daylight sensors and timers are additional features on most occupancy sensors • These sensors provide cost effective solutions for energy saving

SENSOR INSTALLATION • The occupancy sensors are generally stand alone units, attached by screws to the inside or outside of the pole • They interface with any dimmable driver, usually through the 1-10V dimmer • The quality of the final effect is therefore linked to the sensor and the driver combined

SENSOR READY LUMINAIRES • The following slides show a range of street and area lighting, as well as wall fixtures which are occupancy sensor ready • Other luminaires can be made sensor ready on request
