Analysis What Works? The visual language revolves around three keywords from the interview that defines the interviewee’s personality: landscape, culture, and origin, while the landscape is a visual avatar for the interviewee, Chinese culture being his background and origin being a continuous behavior and movement throughout his life. While there is quite a lot of graphical elements, the visuals manage to be organized well thanks to the order of layering, and the play of contrast. The repeated patterns and shapes keep the reading experience flow smoothly from left to right and ensure each panel has something interesting to explore.
Front
What Does Not Work? The craftsmanship of the landscape needs to work on. The size and shape of the text can be possibly explored more.
Back
Analyis
What Did I Learn? I utilized pattern and Chinese letter effects with Illustrator to create an engaging and immersive narrative. The biggest challenge is to find a proper representation of the interviewee’s personality and after a few types of research, I decided to create a Chinese letter combine with the flow of water.

Format
Creative work reaches deep into our intuitive and unconscious minds, into our hearts and feelings. The sea change design process helped to define your calling and its embedded meaning. Now you will examine the ways in which this abstract idea can be interpreted and represented in visual form, offering clarity, embedded meaning, and understanding to the viewer. Stay away from literal translation and use metaphors and storytelling for your design. Emphasis will be placed upon original concept development and the exploration of diverse processes, techniques, and methods. you will be expected to experiment and explore, thereby expanding on your visualizing skills.

13
Goal Visualize a highly abstract idea that source from your growing awareness of the deeper aspects of yourself in your own personal voice by exploring design elements, typography, and diverse processes: eg drawing, photography, xerography, abstraction, typography, collage, textures, sculpture, different types of materials: paper, fabric, vellum, cardboard, metal, wood, foil‌
01
Harmonic pattern The harmonic pattern I am using in my poster design is spiral. It is the curves of life and one of nature’s most dynamically proportionate message.
02
Typography The typography I am using in my poster design is Superclarendon. I have using the Superclarendon because it has plain and sturdy nature, strong bracketed serifs, and vertical stress.

Analysis What Works?
What Does Not Work?
The pattern I choose for this poster design is ocean waves. I define it as something repeats itself over and over, and changes a small bit with each iteration, and all into the center. The focal point of my intention is experiences, hearts, and flowing creativity.
The contrast of the text can be possibly pushed more. The type needs more refinement in integration.
I take the graphic style here and transform it into a big pattern of interwinding colors, and break it into Chinese zodiac. The giant circular void in the middle creates a central focal point that invites viewers to rest and meditate. The font I use for the calendar is Superclarendon, which goes well with the energy of the shapes.
Analyis
What Did I Learn? This project again utilizes a lot of special effects which take a lot of computer power. My laptop actually crashed a few times in the process and I had to restart. A lot of time was spent on saving, loading and restarting. I also went through lengthy research, trying to find a fitting visual language for the idea.

Analysis What Works? The objective of this group project is to visualize several designs in different media with a cohesive visual language. By utilizing the shape of the bounding box of the logo and a set of color palettes, the artifact poster to tell a continuous story throughout. The logo works well. The content map is engaging and informative and has improved a lot. The website has nice details and is thoughtfully laid out, the ripple story is well organized and the icons look good, and the artifact is intriguing and works well at this scale.
What Does Not Work? Each member of the group has his/her own visual style. The differentiation is visible in the details.
What Does Not Work? I learning about collaboration and cohesiveness. Also, I learned attention to detail and the connection between form and meaning.
