Garbage Removal and Landfill Information The Town offers curbside waste, recycling, and green bin collection. Each household is allowed one free bag/can of garbage each week. Additional bag tags are available for sale at $2.00 per tag. Only one additional tagged bag is allowed each to a maximum of two bags each week. Bag tags are available for purchase at the following locations: ● Town Hall (32 Mill Street, Thornbury) ● Thornbury Foodland (105 Arthur Street West, Thornbury) ● Hindle’s Hardware (189 Marsh Street, Clarksburg) ● Circle K Craigleith (209554 Highway 26, Craigleith) ● Ravenna Country Market (495972 Grey County Road 2, Ravenna) ● Home Hardware, Thornbury ● Waste Disposal Site (788090 Grey County Road 13, Clarksburg) The landfill site is located on Grey Road 13, South of Grey Road 40, 519 599-6760 Hours of Operation: Tuesday- 8:00am – 4:00pm Thursday- 8:00am – 4:00pm Saturday- 8:00am – 12 noon Blue Box, Grey Box, Green Bin, Rain Barrel or Back Yard Composters can be obtained at the landfill site or at the Town Hall. Yard Waste: Collected seasonally, for four weeks in the spring and four weeks in the fall, see the Waste Resource guide for dates. Collection is limited to 10 compostable bags or containers per week. Please have yard waste to the curb by 7:00 am on your regular day of collection. Do not place yard waste out for collection during other weeks - it will not be collected. Oversized residential yard waste is not collected but can still be delivered to the Town Disposal Site free of charge. Christmas Trees: Collection runs the first two full weeks in January after New Years Day - ONLY. On your regular day of collection, see Waste Resource guide for dates. Hazardous Waste and Electronics: Are not collected by the Town from curbside - but can be delivered to the Town Disposal Site free of charge. Hazardous waste drop off is limited to May through September only. Beaver Valley Outreach Beaver Valley Outreach is a charitable, community-based organization of staff and volunteers that provides quality programs and services to enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of people in our community. families in our community including, Good Food Box, Beaver Valley Pre-school, Kids Club, Breakfast Club, Senior Transportation and Valley Visitors to name a few.
