If you have any questions, regarding pick-up schedule, hazardous waste days at your local landfill site, landfill site locations and hours of operation, or any other questions, please contact the County of Simcoe at 1-800-263-3199 or 705-735-6901 or by email: info@simcoe.ca Regular pick up for garbage, recycling, and organic waste by Simcoe County for the Town of Collingwood is MONDAYS (curbside by 7 a.m.) The County of Simcoe has a one bag/container per week garbage limit in effect. For additional waste, County garbage tags must be affixed. Maximum 4 bags weekly per property (1 untagged and 3 tagged bags) permitted.


For Bags - Place the tag around the neck of the bag and stick the glued sides of the tag together. For Containers - Stick the tag to the top piece of garbage, so that it is VISIBLE when the lid is lifted. Yard waste must be at the curb by Monday at 7 a.m. of your collection week; collection will occur at some time during the week and does not necessarily coincide with your garbage collection day. Yard waste must be placed in: ● Kraft paper yard waste bags ● Compostable bags ● Cardboard boxes ● Open-ended rigid containers Plastic bags are not permitted. Brush must be contained as above or bundled securely with string, be no larger than 2 meters in length and 30 centimeters in diameter. The County reserves the right to limit quantities. Leaf and yard waste may also be taken to County waste management facilities during regular operating hours at no charge. Christmas Tree Collection Bi-weekly Christmas tree collection will take place during the month of January, providing the flexibility to allow residents to keep Christmas trees up longer. Christmas trees must be placed at curbside Monday at 7 a.m. of your collection week.
